The Mousetrap was a short walk from the Centre of Bourton-on-the-Water, so very conveniently situated.
When I stayed it had no parking facilities, perhaps because work was being carried out on part of the building, I'm not sure. We parked in the Royal British Legion car park, which was a 5 minute walk away.
The room and bathroom were, in my opinion, tired, and needed sprucing up. Paint was peeling off in the bathroom and the electric shower only worked if you kept your finger on the 'start' button. The basin didn't drain properly.
On the plus side, the staff were very helpful and the room clean and comfortable.

Avoid the annex
Posted 4 Dec 2023 on HotelsThe room we were allocated was in the annex and was nothing like the room advertised. Very tired, awful bathroom as in poor shower and very small. Decor was very tired and carpet old. The place looked a tip and for the money paid was definitely not worth it.

Shortly before our stay, we received a notice from Mousetrap saying that their kitchen had caught fire and that they would not be able to have guests. This was out of their control and we understand.
However, we still haven’t received a refund for what we paid and Expedia is telling us Mousetrap is declining to issue the refund for the stay that we weren’t able to take because of their fire.

Very friendly helpful service. Comfortable bedrooms with a fan already provided for our hot weather stay.Very clean with plenty of towels, shampoo etc. No tea/coffee facilities in the rooms, although the very pleasant lady in reception/bar offered tea and coffee while the bar was open. She wasn’t there in the morning however and unfortunately a fire a few weeks earlier meant the kitchen was out of action so we had to walk to a different location for breakfast, where there was only one chef on duty. Service was very slow, although we did get tea and coffee quite quickly. The poached eggs in the eggs royale were hard, not the fault of the Mousetrap, so a bit disappointing. When the Mousetrap’s kitchen is up and running v again we would happily stay again.
