Modern 1950s style aero motel, no aeroplanes
Posted 17 Aug 2018 on HotelsThe Hôtel Alizé is a modern 1950s-style motel on the edge of Puy-Loudes airport. No worries about aircraft noise - there aren't any scheduled flights in August. The room smelt of loo at first, owing to a long hot spell with closed windows. There was a double bed and a single, same price for all so more suitable for a small family than a single traveller. A temperamental motion sensor controlling the light in the small shower room meant I had to stand up and wave my hands about to switch the light back on. But management were friendly and polite, there was a decent meal available in the evening, and a continental breakfast with no meat but good choice of cheeses etc.

I was travelling solo with another couple on motorcycles. We arrived late (check in closes at 9) but When I called Pascal answered and was very helpful. Keys left on a safe place for us. This is a basic hotel however ideal for a stopover on a road trip. A kettle on the room would be welcome but other than that, ideal. Recommend that you take breakfast!

Posted 30 Apr 2015 on HotelsWe were a road tripping family looking for simple accommodations on the road. We found this based on other posting saying it was fine. It was ok to sleep, they have pretty comfortable beds, but out of season, not sure if there are a lot of places to eat (there is a restaurant on site but no one ate there when we were there... the pizza place 10 minutes away closed at 7pm). It was pretty clean on arrival but unfortunately it rained and we came in w/ pretty dirty shoes and it showed up everywhere. Bathroom was small and thankfully only one of us wanted a shower bc it got really wet really fast in the bathroom. We normally stay with friends or rent apartments so it had been awhile since we stayed at such budget accommodations but it felt cheap (aside from the bed), and the internet connection does not work in the room at all. The manager at the hotel was very kind and tried to be helpful.

N'étant pas arrivé à 21 h et n'ayant pas pu avertir l'hôtel pour récupérer la clé, le proprio nous a téléphoné pour nous indiquer comment procéder. Hôtel silencieux, rien à dire. Petit déjeuner très correct et proprio très sympa...
