I am a survivor of domestic violence, and safety is my number one priority. Staff was beyond helpful in making me feel safe and welcome!

Not impressed with our stay at Chaffee Lodge. Upon walking into the facility, we were met with an unpleasant smell, possibly old stale cigarette smell throughout the building. The manager was pleasant and walked us to our room. At first glance, it's a room, but shocked to see an exterior door to the parking lot in the room across from the bed. The bedding was mismatched which would have been ok, but the linens were stained, and I don't think they were laundered from the last tenant. Our room did not look like anything on the website. My husband found stale bread crumbs on his side, and when he moved the nightstand to plug in his phone charger, there were candy wrappers and trash behind the stand. I won't even start with the hairy bathroom and the filthy light switch. Positive things, a microwave, a small refrigerator, a television, pricing, and blinds. We didn't mind that the decor looked like it was decorated from an auction. We did stay overnight, but would not book this motel again.

Still gives me the willies

For starters, we had noticed earlier in the day(10am) that check in was at 4:00 and our schedule made that a little tight so we reached out to see if we could check in early rather than checking in after our plans. I tried to contacted them via telephone multiple times and through the Hotels.com app and received no reply. Once we arrived at the property, later at night then we would have preferred, it was pointed out that the local food venues should be closing shortly and we should make sure to get out to get dinner. When we were able to come back to settle in we were disappointed in the condition of the room. There where overused outlets, which we considered a safety hazard, the outlet in the bathroom didn't have a cover plate, several light bulb sockets with no bulbs, and when we went to crawl into bed, the sheets were filthy (on both beds) and we ended up sleeping on top of the blankets until very early in the morning when we had to leave. The bathroom was also filthy, hair in the shower and all over the sink. I was very surprised that a hotel that had an 8.4 star rating would be this filthy. It's really a shame because the lobby gave me the impression it was going to be a neat place to stay.

Dirty, hairs both human and animal in the sheets along with body fluid stains. Hairs and dust in corners and heater. Slept on top of covers. Could hear ALL activity and conversation through thin walls. I saw no sprinklers or posted emergency escape plan. Needs to be torn down, frankly.
