The room smelled terrible!!! It was a dank, stale smell that also smelled of a combination of urine and bleach. I burned a strong Redwoods-smelling candle in there for two hours. It did not help. I will not stay at King Oscar again. The cleaning standard is way below my standard of what “clean” means.

Pool and hot tub where 'closed for maintenance ' but it looks like it has been closed for a while. They should let potential guests know beforehand.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The facility is in disrepair. The faucet was loose from the wall. There were evident attempts at repair.

We walked in the room and walked right back out and gave them the key back. It looked like there were people living there, with bed sheets over the windows. The outside looked gross. The room smelled like wet dog, had a very large area in the carpet that was so worn that there was no carpet left and you could see the wood sub-floor, and a large hole in the tile entry where you could see wood sub-floor. I would have been afraid to sleep there. We found another hotel a mile down the road.

The staff was nice. The building is old, but well kept. A decent continental breakfast with a waffle maker, great for the kids. The neighborhood was just okay, maybe a little sketchy.
