"The best for kids and romance"

"I had read very mixed reviews of this hotel, so I was pretty leery. The hotel is a little run down, maybe in the aftermath of the 2017 hurricane? But we were very happy with it overall. The highlight for us was the balcony overlooking the lagoon, and the location. The room was large and had everything we needed, including frig, microwave, TV, and coffee maker. The continental breakfast was fine, served on a terrace overlooking the lagoon. We were able to catch a bus nearby to Old San Juan (and probably to many other destinations in the area.) The Hilton, next door, had numerous expensive restaurants, but we didn’t visit them. There’s a good and reasonably priced pizza restaurant about a block from the hotel. The staff was pleasant and helpful, especially the breakfast staff. My only suggestion might be to bring along a flat sheet, as the beds don’t include one. If you’re looking for a fancy resort type hotel, you may not like this one. But it’s a reasonably priced option in a good location. Obviously, I can only comment on the condition of our own room, but we were perfectly happy with it. "

"We really enjoyed the pools, beach and the food! We did have a couple of issues with our room that they addressed fairly promptly. We were only able to get reservations at specialty restaurants for 2 nights out of four, because they were full. Would recommend trying to book restaurants before your trip. There were approximately 8 to 10 Jamaican men on small boats trying to sell drugs all along the beachfront. It detracted from the beauty of the beach and it was annoying when they kept trying to get your attention. Marijuana smell everywhere. The room was nice and spacious. They had one really good dance show but the others were not that great. The food was really good overall!! "

"The place itself was clean and tidy. The ocean was right outside, but a lot of seaweed. The drinks were ok. The one issue we had was the food. The food was extremely mediocre and made us sick. Also, half of the property is closed off to people that aren’t premium members which we felt was disappointing. "

"I enjoyed my stay at BahaMar, overall good experience. A few things I would mention, they did the bare minimum in the room; towels and beds but very little of anything else. They never cleaned the tables, like dirty dishes or glasses. Also our sink in the bathroom kept clogging and it didn't seem like an issue that need attention to them. The resort is large and beautiful, but it is very confusing as to what you are "allowed" to use. There were some pools we could use, but you couldn't use the chairs for example. We got kicked out of areas many times without even realizing we were in an area our bracelet didn't allow etc. That seemed to be the same experience for many people we had conversations with, and they seemed frustrated by this as well. The chair situation is rather ridiculous, it is very hard to find a chair you can use. They have so many chairs that are "reserved" but there is no one all day using them, meanwhile there are guests roaming around just looking for an available chair. We had to pay someone who worked there everyday just to help us find available chairs. Which I don't expect when I am paying for a stay at a resort. The restaurants are delicious, just be mindful of the prices, crazy expensive."

"There was a mix-up and our room was not available at check in. We were given a less of a room with a view overlooking the roof and parking lot. In exchange for the rest of our 6 day stay in there best accommodation a large suite with a large balcony over looking a 180 degree view of the ocean"
