Check in delayed for 2 plus hours IT problems The amenities once we finally got to our room were excellent Breakfast superb

Having stayed in the main resort before, I was pleasantly surprised by the comfortable and quieter space that Manor House is. I definitely preferred my stay there better than the main resort!

Quiet comfortable room. As I was alone I had room service food, as I didn’t want to sit in a restaurant and the food was poor

Shocked to see frayed and stained carpet in our room and during the night I could constantly hear someone in the room next to ours coughing. The view from the room was over grown grass and a broken roof tile. I have enjoyed a stay at Manor House many times over the years but this is our first visit in five years and the quality of the room has declined. Not even a glass to have a drink of water.

A lovely stay. Our room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was delicious and I appreciated clear labelling for all items. Staff were friendly and helpful. The pool / spa was very nice although my 10 year old was disappointed that she was not able to use the jacuzzis due to her age. My old negative would be the £20 parking charge.

Second time staying in the Manor House and again very disappointed. Firstly parking is awful - no permanent disabled spaces outside, you have to park in the main underground car park which is chargeable and a long walk back to the Manor House. Secondly, the room had toenails on the floor, blood on the net curtains and used tissues behind the bed. Disgusting. The view out of the window was onto a roof which was littered with loads of rubbish, old paint tins, etc. Hardly what you would expect of a ‘5 star’ resort. Complained and only offered free parking and a bottle of wine - should have been upgraded immediately. Spa and pools are excellent, but booking system for the pool is ridiculous - allowing a 45 mins session! Staff are very good at waiving this though. There should not be any booking restrictions in place. Breakfast very good, Marta our waitress was wonderful, as were the staff and service as a whole. The hotel is next to a motorway and quite a distance from Newport town centre, so it’s costly to eat out if you need a taxi. Wouldn’t rush back to this hotel unless we had an immaculate room in the main resort.

Seen poor reviews before visiting however when we arrived I had the room card digitally but room wasn’t ready until 16.15 but cleaner on the floor said the room had been ready over 2 hours but he was more than happy to help and show us reception and our room. The room was very clean and the cleaner on our floor couldn’t do about for us when we arrived. Had a reservation in Pad restaurant, that again did not disappoint. Overall enjoyed our stay and would visit again. Only downfall is I think it’s quite a late check in and walking from the resort into the manor I could not find the reception.

An iconic venue but a bit dated and needs more tlc. Staff very friendly and helpful. Car parking miles away and still charged £10 despite being an outside area.

The room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. I was greeted by the receptionist when checking in, who assumed I was a taxi driver instead of a guest staying in the hotel. I found this very rude and judgemental and never would have expected to be greeted in that way.
