I stayed at Vineyard my first two nights. Close to UCT where my son is studying. The grounds are lovely and the " gym " was definitely a positive. I returned on my last night in Africa before going to the Airport. Checked out and was welcomed to go to the gym and read by the pool. Showers and lockers are available . Suggest if you would like to utilize the Spa you make appointments well in advance. It was completely booked both times I was staying.

The grounds and pool at this property were lovely. The rooms were adequate- I prefer the ones with small balcony. Load shedding wasn’t really a problem - we had a/c at night and we were gone in daytime touring. The formal dining room had fabulous food and wines and we ate there every night they were open. The pm prior to leaving for our safari we ate on the patio informal and that was a huge mistake! I got fish poisoning from smoked snook. We had to leave for the airport at 0330 and there was no one in management to talk to so we left for our 2 weeks of safari. The first 3 days of mine were ruined due to being so ill. At one point the abdominal pain was so bad we considered the hospital. I was absolutely debilitated. When we returned to the hotel after our safari time for another 3 days prior to leaving Capetown, I explained what had happened - no remedy was offered- just took down the info for the chef! Very irritating and made me reduce my rating of this hotel as a result. Bfast buffet was wonders but service very bad - had to beg for coffee/ tea and refills.

I would like to assure you that our fish supplier is HACCP compliant, and we have never had any issue with their stock, the snoek pate from the same batch was served to 4 other guests on that same evening with no complaints.With food poisoning allegations, it is best practice to get the previous 72 hours of meals and beverages to send off any possible retention samples to be tested, February specifically there was a terrible stomach bug going around in Cape Town. We have also pulled your bill from the last evening of your first visit on the 7th of February at 19h23, I can see that you ordered 1 x Roasted prawns, 1 x Zaatar Chicken, 1 x Semolina Cake and 2 Caraffe’s of Mooiplaas Pinotage, I do not seem to find any snoek pate, are you sure you are referring to snoek?

A gem - so close to everywhere you want to be in Cape Town yet an oasis of calm. Staff fantastic, food great, especially Morii.
