Lovely property that we stayed for one night. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The swimming pool was superb and helped us cool down and relax after a long day travelling. Breakfast was really good the next morning and served with some locally produced goods. Great place to stay. Exactly as advertised.

Wonderful peaceful hotel.
Posted 17 Jun 2023 on HotelsThe location of the hotel was very peaceful with an excellent swimming pool, very friendly and welcoming staff. A first class restaurant attached to the hotel and an excellent trattoria 5 minutes walk away make dining a real pleasure. Our room was not luxurious but very comfortable and somewhat quirky, given its age and having been converted from a farm building.

Very relaxing hotel with friendly atmosphere

Pros: Its individual decor and friendly, honesty box for drinks. Lovely outside area for breakfast or to sit with a drink in the evening.
Cons: Sign for the hotel from the main road
Location: A car is necessary to get around, easy drive to Lucca. Monte Carlo is a quaint hill town near by to visit. Can easily reach Pisa.
Spent 5 nights at this hotel, we were given a choice of 3 rooms when we arrived. We chose Lucida on the top floor, this meant we had to carry our case up 2 flights but it was worth it. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant on the premises is now owned by a Japanese chef, we ate there twice and the food was wonderful (Japanese food served on Thursday evenings) but not cheap, it's necessary to book for dinner. The pool area is very inviting with loungers and shade if needed. There is a small lake with fish.
We had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Relaxing and comfortable
Posted 8 Sep 2017Relais del Lago was the perfect start to our tour of Tuscany. The room was comfortable and clean with great views. The pool was clean, with plenty of loungers and towels provided by hotel. Breakfast was delicious, there is a self service coffee machine and a continental buffet. The surroundings were pretty, quiet and peaceful, I miss it already.

Very nice Villa!
Posted 18 May 2017
Location: We did a day trip by to Cinque Terre, which was fabulous! Drove to nearby towns, which we enjoyed, esp Montecarlo. Lucca wasn't as great as we hoped.
Three of us stayed at Relais Del Lago for 5 nights between visits to Florence and Siena. This was planned to be the quiet portion of our trip away from the busier cities, and it certainly was! It is a lovely setting and like what we imagined a Tuscan Villa should be like. Lots of easy parking. A small but good breakfast, and lots of places to sit around on the grounds if you wanted privacy. The Blue room we had was large and comfortable. (An extra lounging chair may be a good thing to add.) The countryside is beautiful and quiet as well. The narrow roads take a bit of getting used to, but after meeting up with a few cars it was fine. They were very enjoyable to walk along too - with olive trees, great scenery and small villages. The owners were most helpful, wonderful people, and their mother was a delight (in spite of not speaking any English! Tressy their dog was a lot of fun too !

Fantastic boutique guesthouse. Quite remote area so suits those traveling by car best. Very relaxing stay and the adjoining restaurant has excellent food.
Thank you for a lovely stay.

Lovely B&B in the Tuscan Countryside
Posted 22 Jul 2016
Pros: Lovely big room, comfortable bed, nice swimming pool, friendly, helpful owners
Location: There is an independant restaurant housed in one part of the farmhouse which serves lunch and dinner or another restaurent just 350 metres away.
We found the B&B quite easily with the help of a Sat Nav. This is a lovely old farmhouse that has been restored to a very good standard in a delightful location with a lake in the grounds. We had one of the superior rooms that were on the top floor. The bed was extreemly comfortable. Unfortunately, when we arrived the temperature was much hotter than usual and the air conditioning wasn't coping very well. Elisa and her family were very concerned as the could see we were very hot and offered to move us to a lower room after the weekend. However, the next day they fitted a ceiling fan over the bed which made all the difference - this is the level of service and care that they give at this B&B. The swimming pool is lovely with comfortable sunloungers and gazebo's for shade. A lovely continental buffet breakfast with a good selection of ham, cheese, eggs, pastries, cakes and proper fruit juices (which is unusual in Italy) is available to eat in the garden under the shade of a vine covered pergola. I would recomend this B&B to anyone and will definately go there again.
