Overall, I had a great time in Cancún! The food and drinks were amazing, and there was plenty to enjoy throughout the stay. One thing I would mention for other travelers planning their trip is that the beach had a lot of green seaweed/algae in the water and along the shoreline during my visit. I’m not sure if it’s seasonal or just depends on the conditions at the time, but it’s definitely something to keep in mind if having a clear, clean looking beach is important to you. Other than that, I had a really good experience and enjoyed my trip!

This resort superseded my expectations. I was completely impressed and pleasantly surprised by the resort and staff. This was not a planned vacation and I had not heard of this place until I booked it on Expedia. The resort was very peaceful and the staff extremely friendly, polite, and helpful. The continental breakfast was simple and made to order. The King Suite I had was very nice and comfortable. I was impressed by the energy efficient rooms. I loved my personal balcony. The bartender at the pool was awesome. This was a solo trip and I felt so safe and was really able to relax. I have already recommended this resort, and plan to come back sooner than later.

The staff were great and friendly! The restaurant had great food. The hotel itself has potential to be beautiful. The main pool on the lower level was not clean. There is a smell when you arrive due to the swamp area near the hotel. There isn’t access to the beach you do have to travel about 15-20 minutes away.

The rooms where clean and we had a room with entrance to the pool. Very nice. What I didn't like is people were using that pool at 1am 3am 6am and we couldn't sleep. They should have a time to close that pool like the other 2 pools maybe by 10pm

My stayed at akuazul was great I would say excellent if there wasn't so much construction and areas closed off. The staff was great Sergio help me with reservations for isla mujers and suggested the La parilla restaurant. The shrimp tacos I dare to say one off the best shrimp tacos I ever had . There was a funny smell at the entrance but luckily it wasn't all over the resort the roof top pool has a great view . I would book akuazul resort again loved the pool access from our room

This hotel was a really great choice. The ground floor rooms were 10/10 i really enjoyed having access to the pool 24 hours. I’d stay here again. Only draw back was breakfast wasn’t the usual of what is normally included. Still a good choice. The restaurant was really good.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The property itself is old, outdated and very poorly maintained. The main swimming pool water is green with algae. You can see the paint peeling up from the bottom. Everything was crumbling, rusted or otherwise unusable. Sure the room was cheap but they charge so much for everything g that I could have stayed at a luxury all inclusive for what I spent at this hotel. There is no convenience store or restaurant nearby so I depended on room service for some meals. Surprisingly the food wasn’t bad. Room serve for 2 adults was normally close to $100. Come on. That’s for an order of wings and a little pizza and a tip. This property is clearly close to it’s end. It’s sad. But don’t be drawn in by the low room rate. It ends up being a lot more expensive and it’s very depressing. Plus I smells bad.

The staff goes completely above and beyond—they are incredibly welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. A special shoutout to Sergio at the front desk, who was my absolute favorite and made the experience even better! Having a delicious free breakfast included made mornings so easy, and the on-site restaurant and bar are fantastic for when you want to unwind with a great meal or a drink without leaving the property. Gosh this resort was so beautiful, I stayed at the deluxe room with pool access which is open 24 hours. The breakfast was awesome, French toast, pancakes, fruit platters. And the restaurant’s food was delicious as well. Most importantly the staff is extremely hospitable and kind. Be sure to check out their backyard it’s gorgeous.

The swim up pool of my room was beautiful. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The hotel was also not expensive at all which was nice because we were out and about the entire trip. They have someone there that can book all your tours right away. I would recommend and also will come back.

I booked fairly last minute for a short stay, and it's fine for that, but I would make sure you fully understand what you're getting into. My taxi driver was nervous to drop me off there as a solo traveler, so I think it may not have the best reputation. Like others have mentioned, the property really is not well-maintained - a good portion is broken and closed off. It is right next to the highway, so noise is unavoidable. They were also doing construction in the room next to mine up until around 9 PM every night. Also worth noting is that there is a pretty strong sulfur smell all around the property. Pros were that the staff was very friendly and helpful and the restaurant food was good. I booked the swim out room which was a cool perk. Overall - it's fine. Not luxury, but it's fine.
