Peace and quiet yet not too far from Deauville

A triumph of style over substance
Posted 16 Aug 2023 on HotelsThe hotel is very beautiful to look at. The (junior) staff are excellent. The breakfast is very good.
But everything appears to be done with a view to appearances. The rooms are newly refurbished but the work has been done cheaply. It won’t last. There was no senior manager on site for much of our stay and the place seemed rudderless. There were occasions when there were no staff to be found. The swimming pool was gated and the gates locked by a mechanism that not one of the guests could master.
Overall, pleasant but not genuinely impressive.

It's a 5 star building with 3* rooms and staff.
Has such potential to be an incredible destination.
The building and grounds are stunning, but the room we had (#4 in the main building) was very basic for the price.
while you can tell the staff care, and do their best, I feel that some training and less profiteering from the owners would hugely benefit the place.

Such a lovely place. Staff were so nice. Quaint converted manor house and sweet cottages on a beautiful property. Added bonus was a refreshing dip in the pool and hot tub after a long day of driving and walking.

The property overall is very nice. However our house was situated just next to a pretty busy road.
