The owner Deanna is the best part. She's amazing, super accomodating and we enjoyed chatting with her very much. Hope to visit again one day soon :)

The property is dated and is in need of repair and upkeep both inside and out. There was no one there to check us in and the keyless door lock wouldn't lock when we went out. There were 2 dogs and a cat in the house and the dogs barked whenever we opened the bedroom door or came and went. There was supposed to be a breakfast option, but the owner was actually away, so that service was not available. There was also no one there for checkout in the morning. On the positive side, the owner seemed very nice through texting and the family member who I briefly met, was also very nice. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great. This property is unique and has the potential to be a good B&B.

Hello, Thank you for your review. It gives us incite into better meeting your needs. The house is an older property and is being renovated on a scheduled bases. We close down and complete renos every year. We have replaced furnace, air conditioner, water heaters, windows & new roof over the past five years. The hardwood floors where completely redone last year, the lock has been repaired and this summer the exterior will be completely restored. It is a work in progress but we is furnished with beautiful high end furnishings and bedding to add a cozy atmosphere. There are pets on the property but we list this on our websites and any booking sites we are associated with. They bark when someone walks through the front door but settle down quickly and are content to share their space with strangers. Many guests prefer a self check in and check out and honestly it has become common in the industry as as you can check in and out at your convenience. Breakfast is an add on which we would have been happy to provide had you added it onto your booking. We have been a family run business for 17 years with many repeat customers and have maintained a 9 out of 10 rating on many booking sites. We apologize if it did not meet your needs.

The lady who runs this B&B was lovely and very kind to me when I got there. Unfortunately, the barking dogs (who also barked through the night), the loud house guests who talked loudly, walked up and down the stairs at all hours was a huge disappointment. I love animals but I was pretty surprised by all the barking. That was a lot of money to pay to be woken up again and again and again.

Bed and breakfast with character

Posted 12 Jul 2018
Pros: In a quiet part of town and still close to the countryside. Owner operated with a drive for giving a great experience.
Cons: The air conditioner was a little problematic but we were supplied with a fan. Obviously this is a private house so bathroom was shared.
Location: Close to everything as Okotoks is not the biggest town.close to restaurants and the local shopping.
Check in was at 4pm but we arrived a little bit early which was no problem. A modern large house with a Victorian charm. We had booked the smallest of four rooms simply because the the other three were already booked. Our room was a good size with a comfortable double bed. I would recommend the superior room if you get the chance with a circular staircase to a view of Okotoks and a four poster bed. There was a full breakfast at 8 am each morning which was really good, and this was a great time to meet the other guests. There was two dogs in the owners separate area who where very friendly. A little excited at times but added to the character of the house. I would have no problem staying here again. It was a nice change from the usual hotels.

Heritage style modern home in Okotoks

Posted 20 Feb 2017
Pros: Peronal touch, heritage touches
Location: In suburb, easy driving distance from downtown
Heritage style modern home in Okotoks. Very well-appointed and homely. Owner very friendly, helpful and happy to chat. Great place to stay if you'd like a personal experience, instead of a big hotel. Easy to reach in Okotoks out a bit of a hike from downtown, especially in winter.

Sweet cozy room but...

Posted 14 Nov 2016
Pros: Host Deanna was lovely and welcoming. The room (only one with ensuite) was pretty and cozy. And the bed was wonderful. Deanna served me a fabulous omelet in the morning.
Cons: No hairdryers. I was alone in the property over night as the owner doesn't stay there. I feel uneasy about staying there again for this reason alone.
Location: Well situated in Okotoks.

Quiet location, accommodating staff

Posted 31 Aug 2015
Pros: The flexibility of the stay (arrived late and had a leisurely breakfast the next morning). Banana bread was great at breakfast!
Cons: The guest rooms are right beside the owner/their children. It feels a bit like you are invading their territory (same bathroom).
We chose the B&B as the weekend was a busy one in town. The owner was very lovely to let us arrive late (after a wedding) and made us a simple breakfast in the morning.
