We have stayed in the Metropole many times on the last night of our holiday. New to the room was a kettle, tea & coffee. A good from us. We particularly like staying here, because there is a locked garage, so we feel safe leaving things in the car on our final night in France.

Very old dated hotel, but friendly staff. Close to train station, walkable to downtown area.

Friendly and informal. Able to have an evening drink at the bar.
Not so good : toilet tiny and the restaurant was closed. The advertised restaurant was a strong reason for choosing this hotel. Potential customers should check this first!

Sir,How can you allow yourself such a criticism and so bad rating on our hotel; fectively you should have checked before coming , there has never been a restaurant in hotel METROPOL for 36 years!!! Very convenient location close to the station and bus depot in Calais. Within walking distance of the town centre. Very friendly and welcoming staff. The availability of secure parking was an attraction but it was also very safe to park on the street outside. Good value for an ivernight stay en route to the UK
