A nice apartment but with issues.

A spacious and comfortable apartment in a very quiet area. It is located at the top of a hill and a car is essential to get to and from anywhere. It is not, as we thought, within easy walking distance of Palm Cove. Luckily we did have a car. However we had problems. The phone did not work (not that we needed it). The internet did not work for the first few days and when it finally did, it dropped out so often that it was not worth using. The Foxtel box did not work at all and reported wanting a valid card to operate. The TV worked sometimes but would stop working randomly. We reported these issues to the managers but we got no fixes. Talking to the woman when we dropping the keys and she blamed the weather and wasn't really interested that we had had problems. The other gripe we had is that there are two air conditioning systems in the apartment. One for all common areas and one that feeds both bedrooms. It was therefore not possible to adjust temperature in each of the bedrooms separately resulting in the people in one bedroom freezing or those in the other bedroom boiling. Our stay was 9 nights and according to information provided, the unit would be cleaned every 4 days. After 6 days and no cleaner we called to be told that it was every 7 nights. Unit was never cleaned. One to watch out for is that you have to pick up and drop the keys up in Cairns city which is the opposite direction to the apartment from the airport. A little inconvenient
