Hotel ok but charged twice!!!

The stay was ok and the hotel was in a good location for what we we wanted to do BUT on departure we were charged again for the room having already paid through hotels.com. We have spent the last 6 weeks trying to sort this out with hotels.com but the hotel are not responding. Surely they can see they have been paid twice?

We only got to know about this problem today, we were not paid till date. We have therefore paid ourselves and are asking Hôtel.com to reimburse you the sum of €173.40 that you paid for when booking and that we have received today. This amount will be debited to us by Hôtel.com. This site could have reimbursed you because we had not debited this sum until today and we were not informed of this situation. Sorry to have caused you this annoyance which is not our responsibility. This problem will be solved in the following days. Cordially Alain COUET

Fawlty Towers is alive in France!! Checkin was easiest part of stay. Downhill from there: - booked a "suite" in this hotel (more room for suitcases) as listed as having washer & dryer for guest use + in room fridge - On asking re location of laundry - mgress offered to put a load thro their machine. Nice offer, but dont think so... - On returning from visit to castle, in room 5 mins when owner/manageress unlocked the door to show another guest into our room; - bar fridge in room was only cold compared to ambient temp; - shower was either scalding hot or cold, seriously dangerous. This property wld warrant one star at most. Wld not recommend to anyone.

Good nights rest.

Very brief, overnight stay, after a long drive. Our dog was welcomed and there is a good river walk nearby. The bed was the biggest most comfortable ever. No dinner in the hotel, as it was February, but the recommended restaurant just round the corner was perfect, providing a delicious meal with delightful service.

Classic French Hotel - ideal if you are looking for the Traditional and Romantic as opposed to the Modern Standard European.

Great location near the Chateau.

Lovely location, very close to the beautiful chateau. Parking on the road outside was fine. Hotel is pretty basic and a little dated, but pleasant enough. The receptionist was very nice and spoke good English, which was a bonus. A nice big comfortable bed. Walkable to a couple of restaurants. We did the crepe one, which was a very nice meal.

Sorry to know that you do not like the hotel of charm (less pejorative than old) but I do not know what mean basic in your mind except that to indicate that the beds are in 200x200 CM that the TVs are in flat screens 71 cm with chain ENGLISH, THAT YOU HAVE BATHROOMS AND TOILET GLOVES TOWELS IN 650 GRS, LARGE VASKS OF WASHBASINS, OFFICE, DRY HAIR ............... Then my hotel is basic surely !!!!!!

Delightful couple own hotel a stone's throw from Château de Brissac. Awesome breakfast and a good restaurant about 100m up hill. Also enjoyed the local crêperie,

Reception and bar shut at 8pm!! Couldn’t get a beer! Couldn’t sit on terrace after 8 all locked up, Saturday night! Loud music till after midnight nearby. Very friendly and helpful staff.

You arrived in the evening after 8 pm, all our guests arrived and we dined after a busy day, sorry but we can not work without a meal break, plus you did not warn that you arrive after twenty hours! We have received you and you have made no request regarding beers, we are not soothsayers, we serve our customers with pleasure on their request ....

Great attention to detail. Only two dining that night at that time so laid a table in the garden for us and put flowers on the table. Dinner was excellent, just what we needed after a long drive.
