This was such a shame, having booked the property for two nights and two rooms through Expedia in Nov 2023 (6 months early to attend my daughter’s wedding), all was confirmed online, however on arrival we found the rooms had not actually been reserved, (apparently a technical/administrative error by "either" the Hotel or Expedia!!). The Hotel did accommodate us on the first night (one room upgraded to a suite) but had no space for the second night. They frantically located other rooms at another hotel for the next night which was no easy task on a bank holiday weekend (Thanks Holiday Inn albeit at a significantly higher cost to me). After a bad start, the one-night stay was lovely and we had a nice meal in the restaurant. The hotel is full of character, breakfast is good and the staff were great/helpful, (two nights would have been better and less stressful). Lesson learnt check the booking directly even when you have a confirmation through a booking site.

The room was average, the bathroom miniature but in the morning the toilet didn't flush, it was disgusting, and there was no one around to report the issue, eventually I managed to go around the back and at least tell the chief in the kitchen. Extremely disappointing for not a cheap room!!

Dear TimI am so sorry you had a problem with the flush on your loo. This was investigated immediately after you reported it - but weirdly it worked fine. Must have been a fault which managed to clear itself. It has been working since.Our room pricing is set to offer the best value for money possible. However, the Old Vicarage dates back 800 years, so not all rooms are perfectly proportioned - but we believe that adds to the charm.We start breakfast at 8.30 am Sunday morning and do not have night porterage. Therefore our team are on site from approximately 7.45 am Sundays - hence why you were unable to find anyone until then. Emergency contact details are available in the Bedroom.We are obviously extremely disappointed that your loo failed you and hope that the complimentary wine went some way to appease you.Kind regards Peter

The property was a great option for us while traveling. We loved that we could stop in the pub downstairs and grab a Sunday Roast. The amount of space available for our family was great.

Beautiful place. Full of history. Good evening meal. Place needs to be warmer, when we arrived no heating ,which is a shame.

Thanks for your feedback, glad you enjoyed your stay. It won't surprise anyone that we try to keep our heating usage under control. However, all rooms have independent electric heaters, and if guests are cold, we are very happy to advance our central heating systems.

Traditional hotel, owner has eye for detail, really liked the atmosphere. Comfortable, clean room. Excellent breakfast. Did not like parking!!! Recommended to reverse into car park through narrow entrance..as I’m not great at reversing this was scary!!
