It’s a very nice place and location, just remember it’s not an hotel and you need to buy your own food, bring toiletries and clean at the end. Nice free spa/pool when it’s not too busy

Nice hotel but issue with the room siz

Posted 3 Apr 2018
Cons: Expedia needs to make sure that room descriptions on their website are accurate,
Unfortunately we did not get the room we paid for. Much smaller than described on Expedia site when we booked it, which gave a bad taste to our stay. Exepedia has been unable to address the issue.

Feb Half Term 2018

Posted 18 Feb 2018 on Hotels
The Prestige apartments are excellently located (if you don't mind travelling down to the resort centre every now and then for shopping and amenities). The reception staff was really hit and miss. Basic requests (such as how to use the safe and dishwasher were unable to be answered and couldn't provide new batteries to my TV remote or new sheet that fitted our duvet), however they were always polite. The Sofabed was absolutely horrendous. Noisy and very uncomfortable, suffering from being overused and not replacing the mattress leading to each side rolling to the centre. Double bed was OK though. The pool is good, and after a few seconds adjusting to the water temp, was pleasant to stay in for 30mins or more. The Sauna and Steam room are OK too, but not generally as warm as others I've been in. Ski lockers were good and you could ski in and out of them. Wifi was better than I was expecting, but did drop out on two mornings, otherwise generall good and adequate connection. I wouldn't rate this accomocation as a 5 star residence in the way the French Authorities have (perhaps it would have been when originally opened and with the Staff more responsive). That said, we all really liked the complex and given the overall feel of the residence and it's location, I would definitely stay here again.

Modern, clean Family Base

Posted 11 Jan 2018
Perfect ski-in ski-out for families with ground floor ski & boot lockers. There was a pedestrian gondola & free bus service which made accessibility easier. We booked the snow train from London which worked great using the funicular upon arrival.

Overall lovely modern and comfortable hotel

Posted 2 Apr 2017 on Hotels
Great hotel overall, ski-in-ski-out is great, apartments spacious, modern and comfy, WiFi and temperature great (notable as I'd read negative comments on this but had no issues), pool area wonderful, staff really friendly. Bugbears - if the gondola is broken the bus is a faff, arc 1800 didn't seem to have much going on and we kind of wished we'd stayed in arc 1950 (we went for 1800 as it was supposed to be best for young groups but it was end of season to be fair), but biggest annoyance was having to strip beds and hoover etc before leaving - when only there for a week so time precious and getting up at 5am to go home that is the last thing I want to do and I don't think I should have to unless I'm staying in a hostel, do they not pay cleaners?? Overall though great trip and would happily recommend the hotel subject to the above.

Beautiful location, but it's not 5*

Posted 2 Mar 2017 on Hotels
We spent a week in a one bedroom apartment at Odalys Edenarc. There are four of us (2 adults, 2 children) and the one bed apartment was big enough. Overall it was a lovely holiday but I feel that I paid for 5 star and only got 4 which is very disappointing. The good things: - location is fabulous and is truly ski-in, ski-out - setting is beautiful and a little way out from the main Arc 1800 resort so very peaceful - ski lockers good and convenient - lovely restaurant with friendly staff - one-bed apartment is a good size for 4 people - sofa bed is a proper king size bed - kitchen is reasonably well equipped The not so good things: - very little storage space for clothes in the apartment so we had to live out of bags - swimming pool is beautiful but too cold to be enjoyable post-skiing. There is a single jacuzzi which can hold 8 - no where near enough given the size of the resort - we couldn't get close to it. - No towels provided for the pool - you are expected to either use your bath towels (yuk) or hire bathrobes from reception - wi-fi available throughout but is very patchy and obviously couldn't cope with demand - the bedding and fixtures are pretty cheap for a 5* hotel - very lumpy pillows, I expected better quality - toilet paper - you get a roll on arrival but then you have to buy your own - you are expected to clean the apartment and strip the beds before you leave if you want your deposit back Overall I don't feel that this is a 5* resort.

Nice hotel on the slopes

Posted 23 Feb 2017
It looks very good but has some "let downs": For 7 floors (2 underground car parks and 5 overground) and around 120 apartments during my week stay only ONE lift was working at one time for most of the days. Consierge ladies were fantastic but when I had a problem on Friday evening, there was only Frank who was totally unhelpful and uninterested of my concerns. Our flat was ok, not terribly clean, and with only one toilet paper roll to share within the two toilets. Common areas were ok but nothing more, ski locker area is not ventilated and warm enough to leave the boots there, they stay wet and get mouldy. Swimming pool is small, overcrowded and cold.
