The room was very spacious and we enjoyed our stay but when asked if they had a refrigerator they said No. we had some food that needed refrigeration and they didn’t even have a small portable fridge that we could rent. As a result we had to throw our food away. The staff didn’t seem terribly interested in trying to help us or find workarounds which was disappointing. There was also no air conditioning and we had to open the window to let cool air in but this also result in some street noise coming into the room. That said, if you just need a good night sleep they provided free parking in the back and it was a comfortable quiet night sleep.

A great place to stay.

What a brilliant hotel. I spend a lot of time in hotels for work and it’s rare to find one as good as this. The staff are so welcoming and helpful, the rooms are spotlessly clean, well fitted and comfortable. Parking onsite is easy and there are some great restaurants nearby for dinner. It’s my favourite hotel in Blackburn.

Very basic hotel, considering the price. Otherwise ok. Convenient location. Close to station. Close to downtown. Clean

Disgusting horrible experience. Reported to police

I was supposed to stay here all week. On arrival (5 o'clock) theu told me that my room which was supposed to be ready by 3 wasn't and that they would temporarily for 1 day put me in another room.I req' to remain in one room throughout my stay. They then put me in a room to call me 2 hours lateramd say i would have to mive because it was for access to disabled folk, i agreed as i felt i didn't have much choice. The front desk guy then shows me several rooms, i choose one and then say, i will have to move my things tomorrow evening when im back from work. I request specifically for no one to go into my room on the evening and to the so called owner in the morning. This request was made several times. I come back late afternoon to find my room has been serviced, £40 is missing from my desk and the owner that is a typical insecure guy that has to get his own way has reneged on the offer given by front desk and is now offering a different room entirely. Needless to say i was fuming, called the police to log the incident, Hotels.com found me a different hotel and covered the extra cost (Hotels.com were quite excellent in dealing with) and i left, with the very unprofessional owner bringing a thug with him to escort me off the premises. Never in my life have i ever experienced such a disgusting level of service. To add to this, hardly anyone speaks fluent English, cleaners dont seem trustworthy and the levels of cleanliness were not great with dust on surfaces and hair in the shower

Dear Ajmer,Thank you for taking your time to review your brief but unforgettable stay with us.Having read your review we at the Best Western Hotel 99 were deeply upset that you felt the way you did.Just to clarify the situation and to present our version of events I would like to shed some light on what actually happened. You had a booking for several nights in a single bedroom, upon check in you were informed that we were carrying out necessary maintenance work and that we would happily upgrade you to a king suite for the night free of cost and would move you to the single room that you had booked the next day, on the next day you were informed by our lovely receptionist that the room that you had booked was now ready and upon your return you would able to move, you were very rude and disrespectful to the receptionist saying you would not move rooms as you were busy even though she offered you assistance in moving rooms, you in turn; in aggressive manner stormed off. Upon your return I approached you and asked you kindly to move rooms as you were using two rooms on the day one was the room you originally booked and the second was the one you refused to move out of; you in turn again turned aggressive, although I didn’t feel intimidated I surely did feel for the elderly receptionist that had to face a barrel of abuse from yourself in the morning. I informed you that there would be an upgrade fee which you refused to pay under any circumstances, then when you thought that there is no way to stay in the upgraded room for free you decided to accuse our hardworking staff of all sorts and was again being very abusive and making personally hurtful and humiliating comments. We in turn rang Hotels.com whom were on the telephone whilst you were hurling abuse after speaking to hotels.com we were advised by them to ask you to leave and end your stay, furthermore you were advised to contact the police by myself if you had felt that you were mistreated.I would personally kindly request you to not return to award winning hotel. We feel that because you wanted a free upgrade you felt you were entitled to abuse our staff which we wouldn’t tolerate as for the cleanliness and our service our reviews speak for themselves.Kind RegardsAdam

Pool was nice but room was outdated and massively overpriced. Nobody in the bar and man serving was miserable and shut early. Wouldn’t return

Dear Sir,Having read your review has really perplexed myself and my staff, the only logical explanation we have come up with is that you have confused our boutique hotel with another hotel you might have stayed at as we don’t have a pool or a bar.Warm Regards Best Western Hotel 99 Blackburn

Dear Sir,We are extremely disappointed that you found that the shower flooded this was due to your bathroom being a disabled accessible bathroom with a we floor system, with regards to the car park. Please note this carpark is not owned or operated by the hotel but I guess do you have the facility to park here free of charge. Other than that we are pleased that you enjoy your stay.Warm regards, Adam.
