My rental car broke down which meant I wasn't going to get in until very late. Frode was very responsive when I messaged him to let him know this. He sent very specific check-in instructions and that was extremely helpful! His place is like going to a spa. It's beautiful and the water view calmed me down after a long travel day. I would highly recommend his place!!!

This place was beautiful! The host is super polite and helpful! Highly recommend and if we ever go back to Norway definitely staying here again. The only minor issue is Expedia advertising one price and then charging extra for more than one person. So look at the prices before you book. Not the owners or the propertys fault though.

We loved our stay at Villa Oleanna. Svanhild & Frode were such gracious hosts. The property views are amazing and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Each of our kids had their own room and we had a open concept bedroom/ living room/kitchenette area. The place is very clean and nicely decorated. The balcony views and common areas are great as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend.

Super friendly ! We loved the views , it was not a room we have a small department very comfortable! We travel with my husband and two teens and we loved it! Very relax ! It is place to enjoy. It is 20 min from Bergen you will need to have a car ir is not easy to get in. Highly recommend it!

Horrible & Unsafe !!

My worst lodging experience ever. Surprised that they’re even allowed to offer to stay. This place is still recovering from a fire incident and being reconstructed. We didn’t get the room we booked online and instead got some other room. We were in a big group and the other family who came with us had even worse experience. The water was not sanitized and the heating/cooling system didn’t work. Seems like the couple who lives there are just renting out some rooms to make some money as a side hustle.

We have received this feedback from you and we have the following response to your worst accommodation experience. We have finished restoration after the fire, and our rooms appear completely finished with the highest technology in terms of smart house control for both light, heat and ventilation. Everything controlled with several sensors in the same room. We understand that the set temperatures (set at 22 degrees as standard) do not suit everyone, and if help is needed with adjustment, we are happy to help our guests with that. As for water, it can be drunk from the tap and is safe to drink. This is normal in Norway. As for the room you didn't get, it was originally 2 bedrooms with 1 bathroom. Instead, you got two large double rooms, each with its own bathroom. These rooms would cost 25% more than their original booking and were therefore an upgrade.Furthermore, we understand that you focused on the urgent repair we had on Friday with a water leak that was secured. The workers who carry out this work will complete it on Monday. It is unnecessary for us to leave metal fittings there, so we are removing these today. (this has nothing to do with the fire incident) We want to satisfy our guests in the best way and do a lot to ensure that the guests have the best experience. We did a lot to ensure that you had a good experience during the short time you had with us from late afternoon until you left us at 5 PM in the morning. But sometimes we don't do enough, and with your stay of a total of 11 hours in the building, we should be able to make this happen. We did a lot to ensure that you were satisfied and added extra food to the common area so that you could have food and use our well-equipped kitchen for the few hours you had with us this evening, as you did not have time for breakfast the following morning. We do not recognize whether our intention is to make easy money by renting out rooms. We take this very seriously and do what we can for our guests. Fortunately, with good feedback and repeated visits to us by many visitors.With best regardsFrode and Svanhild

What a great surprise!

If you are looking for something unique, this is the place to go! Villa Oleanna is located in the most beautiful area around my hometown Bergen. This weekend in the beginning of May 23 my wife and I planned to have a relaxing time together and was searching for something very special outside Bergen. By a coincidence we found this hidden gem and decided to try it for the weekend. What a great surprise! The owner recommends a apartment with sea view called “Panorama”. The apartment was newly renovated, spacious and with breathtaking views of the fjord from the balcony – see my attached photos and you will understand. The apartment had its own kitchen with everything you need for cooking. There is also a wonderful common area with access to an impressive kitchen. Some other people staying in individual rooms used it and it was well stocked with everything to prepare meals. Owner is extremely friendly and helpful. Parts of the property are still under construction, but I believe that most of the work would be finish this summer (2023).
