DO NOT STAY HERE

Posted 17 Sep 2018 on Hotels
This was the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. We booked the apartments due to the proximity to Edgbaston. We had 2 adults and 5 children (ranging from 8 to 13) and were allocated two apartments when this was booked through hotels.com. The upcoming stay message came last week with check-in details etc. We called the number on our booking confirmation in the morning on the way to the accommodation but it went to answer phone so we parked our car outside the apartments and went to Edgbaston. Check was not available until after 3pm. We then contacted them again in the afternoon and were told the booking was cancelled (circa 7pm) on that evening. The contact would not answer the phone and text us to stay the apartments could not be booked for one night and were now full. We did not receive a cancellation message from Hotels.com or the apartments. There was not available accommodation nearby and I had to spend 3 hours on the phone to "customer services" in India who put us in a bed & breakfast which was a £50 taxi drive away in Solihull. We did not get there until after 1am and had no luggage etc as these were in our cars outside Mosley Mews! We then had to get a cab back to the car the next morning. This ruined our trip and meant I missed the final due to having to try and sort out the mess caused. This is the worst travel experience I have ever had.

Green suite is a no.

Posted 28 Aug 2018 on Hotels
We didn't end up staying in the red suite as our booking with hotels.com didn't register on their system and there were already people occupying the other suites. We were given the green suite which was entirely too small for a family of four people. This is a self-check in site which means you see no one for the entirety of your stay. Upon arrival and entrance to the building we were greeted with a ground floor suite with towels and chairs dumped outside. These became a feature for the length of our stay. The apartment itself was clean, modern and contained pretty much everything you will need for a "home from home" stay. However, the bed in the bedroom was hard and uncomfortable and the pull out sofa bed was small and could only fit 2 adults on there when seated. When pulled out we noticed stains on the mattress and topper. The cooker top and oven were immaculate, including then mini fridge freezer and the bathroom was wonderfully decorated and clearly new. There were marks all over the walls. Overall, I would not recommend these suites and in particular the green suite as it is too small. Nor would I recommend booking through hotels.com as the two systems do not communicate with each other. I would, however, recommend contacting Sophia the booking manager directly through Facebook- she was the only saving grace for us. So disappointed with the suite were we that we cut our stay short and left a day early.
