The woman at reception was extremely friendly and helpful because we arrived a little early and she accommodated us.

Unfortunately the room was damp and smelled of urine. The toilet also smelled like it had not been cleaned before we checked in. Location is convenient though.

Great location if arriving via bus or catching a flight from Iraty airport. Very serviceable accommodation, but we found the beds could be just a little more comfortable.

Awful

When we went to pay for our meal the first bill included the buffet, main course and desert for each of us when we had only had a main course each. We had also ordered two pichets of wine to have with our meal and were shocked when we were presented with a bill for 38 euros for the wine! It took two more attempts to actually get a bill which reflected what we had ordered and we were left feeling that this had been a deliberate attempt to overcharge us in the hope that we would not notice. The room was shabby with a badly stained carpet and there were hairs in the bath. We have stayed here 4 times before but will not be doing so again.

Better than expected

Although the hotel is on the outskirts of the town and could have been noisy due to its proximity to the airport, the no 7 bus leaves from just opposite the hotel every 15 minutes and takes you directly (no atops) into town for 1.40€ (last bus is at midnight) and there don't seem to be any planes departing late or early so there is no disturbance from the airport. Considering the eye watering prices of hotels closer to town, the Campanille is a great option for an overnight stop off.
