Definitely has seen better days but it's a very convenient location for the ski resorts. Good service (we had to change rooms as our door knob fell off!) and the restaurant / bar there is solid. But for the price, everything was a little dated, beaten up, and low value (towels were like sandpaper).

Dear Michael,We appreciate you sharing your experience regarding your recent stay with us. We are happy to read the positive comments about our location, service, and our restaurant and bar but we are sorry you found our hotel a little dated. As a historic property, sometimes the necessary repairs are overlooked by guests because they are structural or behind the scenes or are not seen as modernizing. Your observation of the towels is duly noted. Thank you for staying with us, and we hope to make your next visit a perfect one.Sincerely, Tori Hicinbothem,General Manager

I booked a room with 2 queens but offered 2 full size instead. They left me with no choice because it was a late check in. There is a hidden charge of $30 and I asked them what that was and they told me it was a tax for ME. I told them I have paid the room charge and tax when booking with Expedia. They told me I need to pay for that and contact Expedia. Other than that. This hotel is very old with no elevator. I would recommend to stay away from it.

Dear Hoi Yiu,We thank you for choosing our hotel again and for letting us know about your experience. We would like to apologize for not exceeding your expectations. We regret the issue with the room type, late check-ins can sometimes limit our room availability, but we acknowledge the importance of honoring our guests' preferences. Moreover, as a historic property, we strive to preserve the characteristics of the property. Once again we apologize for any inconvenience, and we hope you will give us another chance to demonstrate the hospitality you should have received from us on this visit.Sincerely, Tori Hicinbothem General Manager

HOT AND COLD

Posted 19 Feb 2024 on Hotels
We had a great weekend at the historic Bethel Inn. Some of our favorite amenities were swimming in the heated outdoor pool that was warm enough for us the first day- but others didn't last a minute. Happily it was a little warmer the next day. The saunas were lovely too. BYOB- bring your own bathrobe to get to the pool from your room. It gets chilly up there in winter. Each day at tea time after xcountry skiing on the well groomed trails, the lobby had hot drinks and scones in multiple flavors. Day one, the scones were stale and the second day there were more flavors and they came out hot. We took advantage and booked a horse drawn sleigh ride on the property. It was adorable. Short and sweet. Its BYOB- bring your own blanket on the ride. We had dinner at the tavern and all the food was excellent! There was a live musician that was top notch too. We were in the Oaks building separate from the main inn but closer to the pool and we were quite comfortable except for the bathroom floor which was so cold it hurt to step on it barefoot. The floor by the bed was a little drafty too. We appreciate that it is a challenge to stay on top of the upkeep of an old inn and we appreciated the charming quirkiness of staying in an old building. I would go again, but just expect things to run hot and cold.
