Receipt from Expedia stated ' check in open 10 am onwards'. Arrived by taxi at 10. Whole place locked up and deserted with sign saying ' back at six'. Found another hotel but el ray was very resistant to refund. Tried hard to keep my money only gave in after heavy pressure from Expedia customer service. In addition hotel is bizarrely located out in a suburban street near to absolutely no amenities....all things considered ASTONISHED this place still in business

As you personally state, you never entered the establishment to form a proper perspective of the wonderful lobby, rooms and amenities that we have in house which has made us the number one (#1) value hotel in Belmopan.We open at 10 am every day and close at Midnight. Our staff was in the back momentarily at the time of your arrival but our telephone system is 24 hours and we could be reached at all times at 501-610-3877.We have centrally located just off the city's major distribution street (The Ring Road). Our establishment is located 5 minutes walk from three of the best restaurants in the city and two of the largest supermarket. We are also within walking distance of the US embassy, two major parks, the city's largest sporting complex (Big Court) is visible from the rear hotel window and there are two family-friendly parks (Harriett Topsey and Governor General Field) within 2 minutes' walking distance from our front door.Your experience was elevated by the front desk clerk to the office supervisor and sent to the managing director for review. As soon as we verified the cameras on your arrival time, we returned permission for immediate reimbursement.We invite you to reach out to us for a free one-night stay to correct your experience and make it in keeping with the many before you that have us at a nearly 4-star guest experience.

The staff is what makes this hotel great. Ebony is a shining star. Cant say enough about how wonderful she is. All front desk staff is very helpful and friendly.

The facility is going through a restructuring, therefore, the environment is not as organized as before, the last two times, when I stayed there. Hopefully, El Rey will post when the restructure is completed. The staff are great, and are doing their best to make Tenants as comfortable as possible. Overall I felt safe while staying there.

This is worst lodging that I have ever seen and It does not deserve to be even considered for a rating . It was so bad that I immediately left and found lodging elsewhere. My request for a refund was denied, This looks like a run down, delapidated Brothel . Expedia should Not be promoting lodging of this type. Please refund my money.

The picture of the room and lobby that the hotel shows on its website differ greatly from what you find when you arrive at the hotel. The rooms are very humid, the internet service is terrible, the connection is down all the time. There is no cable service, they have Netflix as the only provider, although they mention that they also have Disney plus and amazon prime, it is not true. In the windows, one had mosquito netting and the other did not, I had to fight with the mosquitoes that were in the room. The curtains in the bathroom were broken and dirty, I have pictures of it all. They never cleaned the room. I asked for an invoice, and they told me that by hotel policy, if I wanted an invoice, it would increase the price, more than the price I had already paid through XPEDIA. I will not return to this hotel, and I do not recommend anyone to visit it.

There were no designated parking spots available. We just parked were we could. The room was not what it shows in the pictures. It was clean. The beds were comfortable. The staff was
