Our brief stay was a wonderful experience of the Portugal countryside on a large farm with rolling hills, lakes, a pool and other modern amenities while maintaining an exquisite, rustic and bucolic environment. The staff was extraordinarily friendly and inviting. We loved staying there.

Amazing stay
Posted 9 Sep 2022 on HotelsWe loved our stay at Herdade do Vau. The setting is beautiful and the staff are lovely. Only down point was the poor communication during the weeks leading up to our stay, kept having to chase them to confirm dinner, wine tasting and vineyard visit. We nearly cancelled our reservation because we didn't have confirmation that these could be booked, making it pointless to stay in a vineyard. They were only able to confirm dinner.

Excelente, uma tranquilidade imensa, pessoal extremadamente carinhoso, atencioso e prestativo , excelente para relaxar, caminhar e curtir um ambiente de fazenda com um excelente vinho produzido por eles !!!
Destaque para Sônia e seu proprietário Sr Miguel com gentleman e um profundo admirador , conhecedor e estudioso da arte de elaborar um perfeito vinho !!!!

A highlight of the Alentejo

A beautiful characterful building set in a peaceful and serene location overlooking vines and olive groves.
We visited at the end of October so too cold to enjoy the pool overlooking the landscape but look forward to visiting again when warmer to relax there. The roaring fire in the lounge was the perfect setting for wine and charcuterie before a fantastic three course dinner with the estates wines. Following a comfortable nights rest a stroll to the river followed by breakfast was a lovely end to our short stay. Service and friendliness of the staff was another highlight. Look forward to returning.

Country. Fantastic views. Great pool. We enjoyed a very interesting wine tasting overlooking the vineyards. Excellent service. Quiet relaxing spot. Good breakfast with good coffee.
The estate is fairly remote, luckily we had directions of how to get there, but it was over some unmade road.
