This is a hippie hostel however it was kind of old and they allow customers to smoke inside which may go inside your room.

The location - very basic hotel but offers some outdoor seating on a pedestri
Pedestrian Street & convenient subway station & local tourist area - numerous restaurants but for those who prefer western food - 365 inn

I will say that the location really surprised me! Where do you find such an affordable hostel nearby the tourist attraction (tiananmen and forbidden city)???! The toilets were cleaned often by the staffs and the bed was really nice and comfortable. One thing to note is that the door of the room is not soundproof and I got awoken a few times by the loud noises outside. Getting my breakfast was really easy as the walk to the main street have shops that sells breakfast (dumplings) and soymilk for just 15RMB. Overall, the stay at 365inn was pleasant. If you're thinking whether to book or not, trust me it's worth staying here :)
