This property is closed. I was not contacted by Expedia to alert me to this, and had to rebook at a different location days before my trip. Got no satisfaction from Expedia customer service. Will never use Expedia again.

Great location right on Lake Superior. Just a few minutes to walk to downtown Bayfield.

Definitely not a chain hotel! Nice touches inside and out with a bookshelf, historical artwork and accent walls inside, and a terraced garden with a view of Lake Superior outside. Since there was no breakfast or onsite restaurant, the only thing we really missed was a microwave!

We picked a bad time to go, middle of Oct and the weather wasn’t good plus during Covid. The room itself, no complaints. Seemed clean, beds are pretty hard, tv was huge, view was great. Didn’t have anything for amenities, but we didn’t need them anyways. It’s a good location overlooking the lake and extremely close to everything. We didn’t get to really appreciate the gardens but I could tell they are normally very beautiful. It met our needs.

Nice stay

Great views, comfortable beds, beautiful wood floors. A little breakfast would have made the stay perfect.

Pleasant room and view

One thing is for sure, if you are traveling, you need to be prepared for anything. Our first hotel closed due to Covid. I got the call when we were parked across the street about to go in. Whether right or not, they were of little help in finding us a new place. We had a previous visit to a hotel where they lost heat. The hotel found us an alternative. So, I was less than pleased. Anyway, this was not exactly what we wanted,but it was very nice. We had a first floor room with a patio and a lovely view of the lake. The room was very pleasant with some pretty cool artwork. The bathroom was a little tight, but nicely done and not a big deal. I do have to say that the floor in the entrance and going into the bath could be slippery. The shower had plenty of pressure. We had a fridge, would have liked a microwave, but we managed. Nice TV, plenty of options. They did give us a sheet with what restaurants were doing as far as service. That was good to know. The gardens were pleasant. There was a gas grill and a nice deck closer to the water. We recently lost a family member, I do have to say that we thought the sign on the door was a bit offensive. We may agree with some of their points, but I think we would never stay there again just because of that sign. The wound is still open as far as our loss. We need to be kind to each other.
