It was our first time in Barcelona and as an LGBT we were very cautious in choosing our hotel. Axel hotel was amazing and highly recommend! The staff was amazing and welcoming from check in to check out. The area was amazing as well lots of bars to eat and drink. The area is perfect as you can literally walk to almost all attractions if not take a cab. We took the bus from the airport to a stop not too far from the hotel, I would say 5 min walk to hotel. The hot tub could have been better as it was luke warm and not hot. The pool as well was cold. But other than that would definitely stay here again.

Had an amazing stay at the Axel Hotel. Bartenders and staff were so friendly and helpful. There were so many great dining and drinking options all on the same block as the hotel. We could have stayed even longer just exploring the immediate area, plus with most cabs under €20 it was easy enough to get to the city center and gothic quarter to explore.

This hotel was AMAZING! We visited for our honeymoon. The room was beautiful and clean. The staff was so incredibly friendly. We had the best time. We will definitely be back and will be recommending it to all of our friends.

The staff at the front desk were excellent (even let me in the gym 2 hours before it opened at 10 a.m.). Bar staff were excellent. Room was clean but small (we had the least expensive because none others were available). No closet in the room, just a hanging rack. Only one uncomfortable chair. Bed was very, very hard. Unfortunately there was remodeling of the street going on (a one year project). The neighborhood is full of very good restaurants! The webpage says "we are hetero friendly and it certainly was true.

In addition to being in the middle of nowhere, imagine waking up to the noise of another guest trying to open the door to your room. Yes, you read correctly. Another guest was given the key to my room, supposedly by mistake (very bad mistake, if you ask me), and the lady kept pushing the door of my room, while I was sleeping, and the only thing that prevented her from entering the room was the security bar on the door.

Very disappointed with the conditions of the hotel: The telephone in the room does not work (does not connect to the reception or the outside), no bath gel put on, the air conditioning did not cool well, there was no light in the hallway of the room (totally dark), in order to use the heated pool and use the sauna you had to pay 15 euros, why?? If I paid more than 300 euros per night (so because only have access to the outdoor pool - and in cold weatherVery disappointed with the conditions of the hotel: The telephone in the room does not work (does not connect to the reception or the outside), no bath gel put on, the air conditioning did not cool well, there was no light in the hallway of the room (totally dark), in order to use the heated pool and use the sauna you had to pay 15 euros, which is impossible considering i paid more than 300 euros per night (so because only have access to the outdoor pool - and in cold weather)

This is the second time I’ve stayed at Axel in Barcelona. I like the location and I like the hotel. Everyone is always friendly. The breakfast is really great. The staff at the breakfast is also great.
