Horrible hotel
Posted 4 Jul 2021 on HotelsThe worst hotel I’ve stayed. This was advertised as a four star property. This was misleading and at best a one star. The property is old and run down. Totally overpriced. The first room offered was unacceptable and the second room did not have water, i had to use the hotel communal toilet. The food ordered was not awful. We skipped the restaurant on the second day and drove 40 minutes to a dominos. The breakfast advertised was buffet. This was not the case. All I was offered was eggs and toast. Again this was horrible. I would appreciate a refund.

A glimpse of India’s past.
Posted 4 Apr 2019 on HotelsI like Heritage properties rather than big western style hotels so I am always happy in a heritage property. I give them leeway that I would not give a 3 or 4 star western style hotel. Taragarh Palace had interesting architecture and furnishings and portraits of Maharajas. The food was pretty good.

Posted 12 Jun 2018It was wonderful experience staying in this hotel. Lots of trees and green area. One can enjoy nature so closely and feel peace of mind.

Nice historical place to stay
Posted 5 Jul 2015
Pros: The service was excellent and the food was good.
Cons: They need to let people know that they do not provide for drivers.
Location: We went for a wedding so were involved with family.
We had excellent service and the food was good. We stayed in the new part of the hotel and it was worth the upgrade. We did not find out until we got there that they did not have a place for our driver. We were able to find one at a local Tibetan guest house. The electrical service was a bit off and on but they did have good back up service. All in all I would recommend it to individuals who want more of a historical stay.

Expensive Hotel with poor recreational facilities
Posted 25 Oct 2014
Pros: Rooms
Cons: Breakfast not included
Swimming pool poorly maintained
Table Tennis rackets very very poor
Gymnasium under maintenance, so non functional
Location: Dharamshala n McLeodgunj
Inspite of charging heavily, breakfast not included
Swimming pool poorly maintained
Table Tennis rackets very very poor
Gymnasium under maintenance, so non functional
If you are charging rates of a Heritage property one expects things very well maintained, which were not!!!

peaceful oasis
Posted 3 Jul 2014 on HotelsIt was a pleasure to spend time on this tranquil property in the midst of a busy countryside. This hotel is "off the beaten path", and is a good stopover for visiting nearby monasteries and temples.
