Given the reviews of the BenMas, I expected something better. The rooms were quite small and very warm without a fan. Many of the outlets didn't work. The food was fair, but limited and the dining room & linens rather run down. Overall, the staff did not seem to be able to solve problems or provide solutions without being pressured to do so (not at all my experience in other Ethiopian hotels). The BenMas is affordable, but I will look for other hotel options the next time I'm in BD

Very nice staff restaurant have a very elaborate menu food excellant and room ok but shower need sone minor repair to cirrect leak to floor if the room.

I liked the staff’s effort and care in making sure our stay was as respected and pleasurable as possible. The view is beautiful. Just a friendly environment all around.

In general, we enjoyed our stay at the Ben Mas Hotel, however, some things about it could have been improved. The staff was friendly and helpful, but many times people at the reception desk did not speak great English, and it was difficult to make our needs known.
There were water issues. Our room did not have hot water every day of our stay. Our friends had hot water only one day out of four, and one day they had no water in their room! If we filled the sink even partially full, when we drained the water, it poured out of the bottom of the s-pipe onto the floor. Fortunately there was a floor drain in the bathroom so the floor did not stay wet with a puddle.
Internet access was not 100% in the rooms or lobby! and was often slow to respond.
On the positive side, TV reception was good.

Posted 9 Dec 2017Checking in was smooth. our double bed room just what we expected. Breakfast buffet didn't have much selections. Staff attentiveness was appreciated. There was a little dispute in regards to our bill. The total on the receipt showed in the $$ amount instead in Birr the Ethiopia currency. I was happy when they corrected it.

Posted 26 Dec 2016 on HotelsThe bathroom at any time manages to have 6 mosquitos inside of it. They couldn't find my reservation and did not give me the kind of room I booked (one with a balcony). And an employee lied to me 3 times when I got room service the second time. He lied to me about the price (added on 100 birr), when asked for a receipt he said he'd get one but comes back with no receipt and tell us he was wrong and the price is 245. Not true, couldn't be over 200. I thought bf had gotten a receipt but then tells me he never brought one. Not wanting to have to deal with this I drop it and eat what I ordered.
