On entering our room, one of the curtains was hanging off the runner. We booked a family room with a queen bed to sleep 4.When I made the reservation I made it quite clear it was for 3 adults and the booking was accepted. However, they brought in a cot (fold up bed) being the third bed which when my son sat on, collapsed. There were slats missing. When reported to reception was told it was for a child. They knew we had a party of 3 adults and charged a supplement of 15 euros night for the third person, even though I paid for a family room. I asked them to separate the queen bed and with the single bed gave us the number of beds we needed, and booked for. We were up in the eaves, the carpet needed cleaning, no smoke alarm in the room, no fan or window in the bathroom. Only two sets of towels and repeatedly had to ask for the third set. Then to cap it all after paying the bill received a message that they had debited a further amount on my friends card, who did not give authority to do so. I had to give card details when I booked. I paid my bill with cash. The message said there was a problem with my bill, not that they had made an error.

Chère Madame,Nous vous remercions pour votre retour et sommes désolés d'apprendre que votre séjour n'a pas été à la hauteur de vos attentes.Vous avez réservé une chambre famille, adaptée pour 2 adultes et 2 enfants, c'est pourquoi lors de votre réservation vous n'avez pas pu ajouter le troisième adulte. Suite à votre réservation, vous nous avez envoyé un message pour nous informer qu'une troisième personne serait présente, nous avons dû vous demander l'âge de la personne car vous ne l'aviez pas précisé. Nous vous avons proposé d'adapter le nombre de lits au nombre de participants mais vous avez préféré avoir le lit supplémentaire d'apporté dans la chambre. Nous nous engageons à l'avenir de ne plus accepter d'adulte supplémentaire en chambre famille.Vous avez été installés au deuxième étage, le détecteur de fumée est situé dans le couloir de l'étage, ce qui évite les dérangements en cas de tabagisme. Il est commun de ne pas avoir de fenêtre dans les salles de bain en France. Merci beaucoup de nous avoir signalé que vous avez dû demander pour une troisième serviette de bain, nous avons remonté votre message à nos équipes de chambre et renforçons notre contrôle afin d’éviter ce genre de désagrément à l’avenir.Pour votre paiement, vous avez souhaité régler la veille de votre départ, la réceptionniste n'étant pas présente à ce moment et n'en aillant pas été informée à l'avance afin de préparer votre note, les serveurs ont acceptés de vous encaisser. La dernière nuit a donc été omise et prélevée le lendemain sur la carte bancaire de votre réservation.Auriez-vous d’autres suggestions à nous apporter ?Au plaisir de vous lire.

Hotel was situated at the edge of town, so perfect location, reception staff very helpful, bed was comfy, rooms looking abit tired but ok for price, no secure parking at hotel, but free public parking near-by..we did not use the restaurant, but was very busy so presumably it is good

Short stay in Bagnoles-de-l'Orne

Our stay was at the Hôtel Ô Gayot was very enjoyable and relaxing, the rooms are comfortable but basic. Food and service was very good and all the staff were very friendly even during this difficult time we felt very welcomed.

COMFORTABLE HOTEL NEAR THE TOWN CENTRE

I recently stayed at O Gayot for the second time in 3 months. Once again, I was staying here on a Thursday night when the restaurant is closed and reception closes at 17.00hrs. La patronne was good enough to phone me one week in advance of my stay, to inform me of the above. My room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. The king size bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean everything was in order. I did find the over bath mixer tap for the shower, very difficult to operate. It was of an unusual design and some instructions would have helped. I would recommend the O Gayot to anyone looking for a pleasant hotel in Bagnoles-de-l'Orne.

We stayed here one night enroute. The hotel has the nicest restaurant. I recommend it.
