It had a lovely homely and friendly Atmosphere and the owners obviously take pride in the hotel. The hotel was spotless, breakfast had a wide variety of food, drinks and continental breakfast. The rooms were spacious, well maintained and fabulous to have a balcony overlooking their lovely garden. Ample free parking was a bonus as was a short walk into the quaint town. Great value for money. What more can I say-loved it. 😘

Very calm, clean and relaxing place. The welcome and the service were excellent, the bed comfortable and the village around lovely.

Difficult to get to, inflexible check in times

Posted 1 Dec 2017 on Hotels
Unfortunately I didn't actually get to stay, as I had arrived earlier in the day and the front door was locked. Check in was at 15:00 in the afternoon but I had figured I could at least leave luggage at the front desk before proceeding to work. The neighborhood is very quiet and clean. As of November 2017 the major road leading to the hotel was completely under renovation (no sidewalk either), so you have to take a massive detour to get there. I personally walked from the train station, and it is a good 30-45 minute walk up and down hill (doable, but still very far). Eventually I had to opt for another hotel nearby that had a front desk that worked around the clock.

Great hidden gem.

Can't say enough about this unexpected gem. The rooms were simple, but quiet and comfortable, and the breakfast spread was great. Above all, the managers were very warm and accommodating. It was our surprise favorite stay of the trip.

Great small hotel close to town centre

Posted 21 Aug 2015
Clean and well-equipped room, warm welcome from the couple who run it, good breakfast, quiet location but very close to town centre to get an evening meal - whats not to like! This is based on 2 single-night stays and we would certainly go back again if we are passing that way.

Clean, quiet, friendly, beautiful town

Posted 1 May 2015
Pros: Clean, quiet, big rooms, very good condition, great breakfast, very nice hosts, parking right out front, close to town center
Location: 10 min walk to town center, Castle Bad Bentheim 5 min further. 5-10 min drive to Bentheim thermal spa and a beautiful forest set up for day walk/bike
Pension Wasserwerk was a great find for us. My wife and I were here for two days after a work meeting in nearby Netherlands. The hosts were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful in getting us settled. It's easy to tell that the hosts have a lot invested in keeping guests happy, and the facilities in top notch condition. Our room was large, with an equipped kitchenette, seating area, large windows, and a view of their wonderful garden area. Our room also had view of the fabulous castle in Bad Bentheim, which was barely a 15 minute walk away. Bad Bentheim is a beautiful, clean little town, fairly quiet in mid-April but a nice spot for a day or two of sightseeing (castle, spa, forest). The pension is in a very nice residential neighbourhood, only a short walk to grocery stores and the small town center. The town itself is on the side of a fairly steep hill, so this makes it even more scenic. Certainly one of the highlights for us (after the castle and thermal pool) was breakfast offered in the pension. It is a bright and cheery venue with windows to the garden and neighbourhood, and is organized such that meeting other guests is easy to do. The available breakfast items were very good.
