Unique place to stay. Close walk to the beach and restaurants. One detail guests should be advised of is the requirement to pre-book a ferry if they are travelling by car . We ended up having to change travel plans as we could not get off the island on the day we wanted to. Had we known that pre-booking was required we could have made sure prior to our arrival.

Hi Leslie - thanks for your review of our holiday home. We are pleased that you found the Dome House unique. We think its great, especially with it being different and a bit quirky. We will take on board your comments regarding booking cars on the ferry and see if it can be added to our information brochure. It was our pleasure to host you all and hope that maybe in the future we will see you again. Best wishes to you and your family. Kind regards Sheryl and the Alexander Clan

The Dome House. Cute and Quirky.

Amazing self contained house that will transport you to an exotic location and gardens to match. Exciting Middle-Eastern decor within the domed ceilings. Truely an unexpected surprise !

Different place to stay

Only 5 minute walk from Onetangi. Cute place in style of Greek Island houses. Only negative was that bathroom smelled slightly musty.

Very enjoyable and relaxing stay

Location: This is a real gem of a place, very relaxed stay. You will need to hire a car we did for 5 days, a short walk to the beach and café/bars.
.We stayed in the Eros one Bed self contained unit extremely well appointed, utilised as a base for our 5 days on the island. The hosts even marked the best winery's to visit. The shower was refreshing, and the bed was fantastic. Could not fault the accommodation. The host sent text messages on arrival and during the stay, any questions were answered quickly. We will be back and will bring the rest of the family.

Nice flat, Good position, but Difficult check in

Posted 21 Aug 2016
Cons: check - in and heating into the 2 bedrooms and the bathroom
It is not an Hotel or a strucure, but an isolated flat.Nobody was present at check -in and check out. It was very difficult to find the Key: we could NOT find them and nobody was present or answer at telephone during check in. After 40 minutes, finally someone answered at telephone. We arrived at 17 o' clock but we could get into the house at 18.00 o' clock. About the gate: there were instructions fo open it, but NO instructions to close it. The house was clean and nice inside, but it' s wintertime! There was NO HEATING into the two bedrooms and into the bathroom; there was heating only in the kitchen and in the living room. There wasn't any back-up electrical stove to switch on. During the night it was cold inside. The hot shower is very difficult to adjust: too cold or too hot. It could be a good place, but it must be less expensive than an Hotel or structure where service for check-in or check-out is always present.

Hi Maria, Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback. You will notice that our photos and description shows exactly what this property is (a holiday home), not a hotel. You made your booking and within 12 hours your were sent extensive instructions on how to get into the property including text message instructions to access the property at 7am (the booking being made after 11pm) step by step instructions by email as well as two "how to" booklets we have written explaining everything there is to know about access and the property. We have never had a guest that hasn't understood that opening and shutting the gate would be the same - but we will update our instructions further. The ket, as described is literally right next to the lock in the lockbox, as described and detailed in all the above instructions. The two heat pumps heat the property to 35 degrees, and the in room panel heaters provide further heating in case the layers of duvets aren't enough. You will also find we are one of, if not the on many days, cheapest property on Waiheke for the very reason that we don't have a check in (likely why you chose it!).
