This was a lovely place. I was not aware from the listing, that I had to take a boat to get there. It also said there was a restaurant. What they meant was they would get any food. They did go over in the boat to get me food. I don't really like boats, so this was not a good location for me.

I'm a female lone traveler from Canada. I booked the Mughrabi Guesthouse online from Cairo. I arrived there just before sunset & was departing the next morning at 4am. It indicated that it was a 10 min walk to the town of Aswan. For clarification, it is a 10 min walk to the free ferry to town located directly across the Nile. I was met by a lovely young man named Ahmed, who carried my bag to my cute little Nubian room. I needed to get to town for some cash & a meal, as I didn't see any restaurant as such on the premises, although they had beverages there & I got a large bottle of water. Ahmed arranged a boat to meet me at the foot of the property in 1/2 an hour, so I had time to settle in. Mostafa, his pal, & I believe his brother, the boat driver & Ahmed & I took off across the river. They escorted me to several ATM's before one worked. They dined on Koshari with me & escorted me back safe & sound to the guesthouse. Previous to that little jaunt the owner/manager of the guesthouse arrived to ask me if all was well. His english was great & I appreciated his attention. The room was perfect for my brief stay. Nubian & very quaint, right across from the town of Aswan. It was January & very cool at night & I dont think there is heat in the room, or at least i couldn't find it. But being CDN I am prepared for cold. I was up at 4 am for my tour & Ahmed was there again to help with my bag & give me a lovely little breakfast in a bag for my excursion. FABULOUS adventure!

This is a really lovely place. The garden area is very peaceful and beautiful, and the view is fantastic! The room is quite comfortable, though there was a temporary glitch with the wifi and we did lose water for a bit. Taha and his brother are very kind and willing to help in any way. He helped arrange my tour to Abu Simbel and gave me information on other tours and transportation options I was looking into. They offer a free boat shuttle service to and from the ferry terminal on the East Bank, which is quite convenient. If you don't want to hassle them, there is a public ferry down the road which charges foreigners 5LE each way. The location on Expedia was misrepresented at the time of my booking, placing it on the east bank, but it is definitely on the west bank. There are drawbacks and benefits to being on that side of the Nile. You can arrange to have dinner prepared for you at a cost, but it will take 2-3 hours, so best to schedule a time. Breakfast was okay. The place also seems to be a local gathering spot for people to hang out and have coffee, which is nice. Overall I highly recommend this place, especially if you are looking for a place to relax.

Great stay in a quiet village.

The guest house had well appointed rooms and strong wifi. It is situated on the Nile’s West Bank just 200 meters from the Tombs of Nobles in a small Nubian Village. The food here was delicious and plentiful, the view incredible and the staff kind, caring and excellent ambassadors for Egypt. Loved it ❤️
