The Place to Stay In/Around Asuncion, Paraguay
Posted 5 Sep 2016 on HotelsIf you are coming to Asuncion, strongly consider staying at the Arthaus Boutique. It's about 5-10 minutes outside of "downtown" Asuncion, but as you'll find, there really isn't much in "downtown" Asuncion. Instead the area around Arthaus is a more upscale area with private homes, and walking distance to two major shopping areas, restaurants, and higher end spots. I highly recommend it over the main city area.
Javier the owner speaks perfect English. He was born in the States, I believe. He's tremendously helpful and has great stories. He helped me find someone to drive me around the country and give a private tour (in Spanish) and recommended one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. You're not going to find much tourist infrastructure in Paraguay, so it pays to know someone who can make good recommendations. Javier is that guy.
The hotel is a converted house slowly becoming a hotel. Its not overly flashy or fancy, you walk through an outside garden and up a winding staircase to get to your room. Though it provides what you need, is clean, and the internet is good.
If you're coming to Paraguay, I'd absolutely recommend staying here. It's worth it simply for the ability to talk with Javier, especially as an English speaker, it will take some of the barrier away from coming to one of the South American countries where English is not often spoken.

Hotel in old condition

Pros: It was near the points I visited, and the staff is very nice. Also I value that the owner is present during the afternoon.
Cons: In my room, the clean was not good and the room facilities were not good.
Location: Near you have shoppings, the WTC, and new buildings area.
The hotel is well located, near shoppings and new area in Asuncion. The owner is always there. I was no lucky with the room assigned, it was the oldest one and the attendant told me he could not change it because the hotel was full during my stay.
The staff is very nice, and they told me that other rooms, the new part of the hotel is nice, but I was in the old part, the economic one. May be that was the point.

Family feeling
Posted 28 Jul 2016 on HotelsThe personel was all wonderful. They picked me up early in the morning and tooked me back to the airport. The treatment from the moment I was picked up to the last minute was like family. Everyone smile and show happiness in their work and that is a nice feeling.

Nice stay. Great people and hospitality. Room was a bit outdated. Great, safe neighborhood with beautiful homes and close to nice shopping center with good restaurants.

Good small hotel in Asuncion
Posted 22 Sep 2015 on HotelsMy daughter and I had a very good stay at the ArtHaus hotel. The breakfast and the service was excellent. The rooms were not modern but clean and very typical of Paraguay. It was centrally located and close to shopping mall. The owner, Javier is fluent in English and was very helpful. Overall a good value.

Pros: Very clean,well located.
Cons: Include some promotions about tours in Paraguay.
Location: Shopping del Sol is very close,in addition to you have easy access to the public transportation .
Great location,clean,very nice staff,for that price it couldn't be better.
