Hotel full of character in the middle of town.

Posted 4 Jan 2018
Pros: Its character.
Cons: menu rewritten, hot water checked.
Location: ear all kinds of good things especially Bar Zilli.
Old-time Italian, full of oddities. Very nice reception and restaurant staff but menu needs reworking and language corrected. If things don't work in your room, e.g light, hot water, they repair immediately. I enjoyed my stay.

Sunshine Hotel Asmara

Posted 4 Dec 2017
Pros: Pleasant staff
Cons: Hot water, Wifi, food, cost
Location: Asmara has some great old architecture but the whole place is falling apart and is really under a military dicatorship
Sadly Eritrea is not a tourist destination to recommend. The hotel is expensive for about a one star hotel. Wifi is virtually non existent, hot water a rare commodity and food very average. One can only travel out of Asmara with difficulty and great expense. Not a place I will return to in a hurry, much as I loved Asmara in the past.

Good hotel in a spectacular city

The hotel staff and friendly and helpful. The breakfast (included) was good. The biggest complaints would be slow internet service and inability to use credit cards, but that's true everywhere in Eritrea. On the whole, a good place to stay in Asmara.

Decent place to stay in Asmara

Nice place--a bit worn around the edges, and the bed isn't the most comfortable. Wi-fi barely exists, but a nice stay overall. Staff are wonderful and the neighborhood can't be beat. Recommended overall.

Posted 12 Apr 2016
Pros:
Cons:
