This is a pretty hotel with wonderful staff. Mr. Kevin and all of the doormen are exceptional. The property is located in a quiet area. There are great eateries within walking distance; the hotel is also on the streetcar line. Canal Street is a short scenic stroll away if you wish to enter the French Quarter. I’ve been to NOLA many times, and the Lafayette is on my pocket list.

Stayed for 4 nights during Jazzfest. From check-in to check-out consistent problems. At first, they couldn't find the reservation. Then they put us in the wrong room (two doubles instead of the reserved king). The bathroom fixtures were broken. The front desk staff was abrasive and unhelpful. Our balcony door would not stay shut (the balcony communicates to all other rooms on that floor so anyone could just walk in). I had to essentially tie it shut. Despite requesting a cab and a wake up call twice, neither was done. Would never stay here again. Shocked this is a Wyndham property...

Close enough to the funnest parts of town but far enough away for peace and quiet. The room was comfy although the bathroom was a little down in the heels and the AC anemic. Even so, I'd gladly stay there again.

It's a very noisy area and staff at this location is rude as hell.
