Nice rooms, comfortable with minor set backs
Posted 17 Jan 2024 on Hotelsthe stay was fine, i had things to do in the day so i was not in the hotel the whole time. But every time i entered there was this smell in the lobby i didnt enjoy.
i also noticed the shower floor was a little dirty and i had to rince before using. the telephone in the room wasnt working either i had to go down to get water.
otherwise the rooms were generally clean and nice for a day or two of stay. the staff had a few people that spoke well English and they helped us very well to check in.
if they fix up these minor things, its going to be a much better stay for others.

The property was very convenient to where we needed it. The breakfast was very poor and cold. The staff was always courteous and capable. Although the price was good, I wouldn't return.

We liked Lion City Hotel so much, we stayed there again on our return to Ankara. They held onto our luggage for no extra cost.

Excellent hotel - 4*, reception staff speak very good English "and" they are knowledgeable city guides. Superb location, right in the heart of Kizilay Square, walking distance from the Metro, Buses, and thousands of shops, restaurants, night clubs. Taxi to/from airport is around 450 - 550 TRY. 4th floor very quiet with windows closed. Wifi speed is good. Clean room, large size, large bathroom (usual toiletries), large towels, fridge. There is a 24-hour, free, tea/coffee service (order the strong expresso Turkish coffee, and not the weak Nescafe).
We took a 2-day trip from Ankara and they looked after our luggage free of cost. We were to move into our rooms early (well before the usual 2pm). They booked our taxis for early morning flights.
Central location means its only 50 TRY taxi to the Ataturk Mausoleum and 70 TRY to Ankara Castle.
This hotel is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
