Check in went OK. The location is really nice, rural and peaceful but not as quiet as it seems. More traffic than you think but it’s still peaceful and a nice location.
Staff a mix of friendly and some not so friendly or welcoming.
We ate dinner in the bar - food was good and tasty, although very expensive. There was a lot of it - I would be quite happy with slightly less and it being cheaper.
Breakfast was disappointed - no real direction. The cold breakfast was OK but not 5 star. We came down an hour before breakfast finished and there was not much there, it hadn’t been refreshed/restocked e.g. butter, bread, fruit, yogurt, pastries, etc. A lot of people came down after us as well. The hot breakfast looked good and was well presented.
Quirky interesting room, good standard, lovely and really nice. Beds comfortable and the shower is really good. Really good sculptured elephant towels on the bed - kudos to whoever did those :-)
Only 2 sets of water, glasses, cups, hot drinks despite booking for 3 people. This seems to be a fault in most places we have been to.
Not sure it’s five star - no tissues, cracked glass, really dirty/sticky cup, no biscuits.
Would I recommend … Yes as even though I don’t feel it’s five star, it’s a nice place.

Pub was great, food was excellent. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room, Senna Cove was very comfortable, shower fantastic and bed really comfy. The photo on the website is possibly a wee bit out of date. Pub really welcomes dogs, ours was very well catered for and loved his sausages for breakfast. Pub would benefit from having a bin for used poo bags. There are none around. Overall a great experience and we would definitely return

We had a wonderful stay at the Joiners Arms, the staff were so accommodating and the whole place has a general feeling of warmth and cosiness. Our dog stayed as well and the additional welcome pack for the dog was a lovely touch, he devoured the camomile treats which was very much needed due to his excitement staying there. We will definitely be back. Thank you to all the staff.

This was our third visit and the Joiners Arms never fails to please in all areas of the business: Accommodation, cleanliness, restaurant, bar. Close proximity to the beach

The check-in experience was very stressful and the room was small and needed some TLC - see photos. We were uncomfortable, didn't sleep well and had to pay an unexpected deposit of £50 to "open a tab" which was then never used and took 5 days to be refunded. The room could be improved greatly with a bit of a refurb, some new lighting and some storage/shelves to put belongings, however it does have luxury touches such as a Nespresso machine. It may have been 5 star when it was first finished but is certainly not now. We had a good experience in the pub at both breakfast and dinner - food and service were both good, however overall we were disappointed with our stay.

Great service and food especially the breakfast, only complaint was no hot water in room for hours , room was freezing cold when we came back from dinner we mention it and they said thet would check the boiler. Then the heat came on full blast late at night and was very hot. Wish we could have controlled water and radiator temperature. TV was constantly out of signal so couldn’t watch anything. This didnt spoil our stay but was a little annoying. There was also music and noise till 11pm but thats to be expected when it's a room above a bar. Staff were really pleasant and helpful.

Really enjoyed our time here, the room was very nice and cosy, catering is really good with breakfast included and the staff are helpful.
In winter it may be difficult tomget around if you dont drive though as public transport is extremely limited and there isnt too much in the area.
