Our room was gorgeous- but the staff in every area were less than hospitable to the point my husband and I came to the conclusion that their attitudes must come from the top (management). It’s tricky to get to, the stairs and steep to the accommodations (expected for such an old structure), the breakfast was good- service wasn’t.
It’s a balanced review I believe- would I stay here again? Probably.

Fab stay in great hotel located very close to town centre. Relaxed atmosphere, good food and quirky interior. We loved it.
