Older side of town very quiet

An older property, but this is our second time booking because of how great it is. The staff is friendly, the free breakfast is well-above average, and the rooms are comfortable. We love how close it is to both Great Sand Dunes, Starbucks, and a Walmart! We’ll be back!

The Dines Inn is located in a nice part of the downtown Alamosa area. There is a delightful coffee shop about a block away and a delicious Mexican food restaurant a block the opposite direction. Wry enjoyable!

Initially, we were disappointed when we arrived. It just did not feel like it was a super-safe area, and there were plenty of homeless folks around. Though non of them bothered us, it is not a great sign. The room was small, but very clean and quiet. One thing of note is the parking lot is small. We have a full sized truck and parked off-site due to the size of the lot. The room price included a great breakfast that was not a continental style breakfast, but a full breakfast at an attached restaurant. Plenty of great dining options within walking distance.

We are on Main St. so most of the vehicular traffic and foot traffic are on this main thoroughfare. But, I have been here for a very long time and, fortunately, there have been no issues with anyone bothering our guests. If you had not noticed, the whole motel area has cameras and is monitored 24 hours, so our guests should feel safe. It is fine to walk around, even in the evening. The Police Station and the Fire Dept are right behind us too. Thank you for your feedback.

Breakfast is a voucher for the restaurant next door which is nice. Feels more like a room in a home than hotel, in a good way.
