Daniella at the Buffet was AMAZING!!! She took care of everything we needed.. We had problems with electricity going out, air conditioning stoped working, got aromatherapy on pillows three days later after asking, buffet isn’t filled quickly enough they need to check what is empty. The property is beautiful and most of the staff very friendly! The beach is rocky so take water shoes, tons of seaweed but they do have crews cleaning it!

Overall, wasn’t too impressed with this resort. I have been to two other resorts in the Akumal area and they were far better than this one. Food wasn’t the best. The buffet had limited options and didn’t seem that fresh. The restaurants were better quality, but still not top tier. Staff wasn’t the friendliest, as compared to staff in other all inclusive areas I’ve visited. The hotel room was locked at 85 degrees C so it was very hot and uncomfortable. Our toilet broke on day and when we notified them of it, the toilet was still broken up until the day before we left. The beach was also very rocky so it made it super hard to actually walk on the shore to swim. Additionally, guests would “reserve” beach chairs with towels and leave them on the chairs all day, so there would be nowhere to sit. The only good parts of this resort is that it is smaller and the souvenir shops were very nice. Due to all the issues stated above, I would not recommend this resort to my friends or family.

The service was truly the shining star at this resort. Special call out to the staff and leadership at the Lima restaurant and Rosalinda at the pool bar by building’s 3&4. Also a call out to the staff and leadership at the Mexican and Gourmet restaurants. Great job on the service and compliments to the Chef’s. Here are the things I didn’t like about the resort: 1. Smoking. If you are a smoker and you like to smoke everywhere you want or if you’re a non-smoker and like people to smoke around you all the time, this is the resort for you! This is a full out smoking resort with no restrictions. Truly disgraceful! 2. If you have kids and want them to be able to do anything they want whenever they want or you’re an adult without kids and want to have kids around you at all times doing what ever they want , this is the resort for you! No adult pool or other areas in the resort for adults. 3. The beach behind the resort is narrow and rocky, basically not useable. This was a big disappointment. It’s better if you walk down the beach by Secrets and further and there is good snorkeling so by no means total loss. The aquatic life in this area is spectacular. At the end of the day what’s important for me may be different for you and I spoke to many people who were return customers solely for the service but for me I need a little more. It is a beautiful area and the locals are wonderful people.

My wife and I booked the penthouse suite for our first trip to Mexico. To say we were let down is an understatement. Our balcony was one of three completely covered by a large tree so there was no ocean view, the air conditioning didn’t work, the food was average to below average depending on the restaurant, we even had a hard time getting waters delivered to the room. The rooftop tub would have taken 4 hours to fill so we didn’t bother. Not a big deal but the TV in the room also didn’t work. After a day and a half - we left and booked a spot at Secrets which is right next door and it was one of the best decisions we made. It may have been more expensive, but absolutely worth every penny. Our recommendation would be to book Secrets in Akumal FIRST.

Welcome was wonderful. Some of the staff were amazing, the staff in the pelican were not. The manager was kind and friendly however there were 3 different occasions when we went in and were not helped. We asked for menus and they didn't bring them. We asked to order and we're ignored by two different staff members. After another customer said something we finally got our menus. We ordered room service twice and it never came. We ran out of toilet paper in our room twice and had to wait hours for it to be delivered. Also they did not restock the mini fridge as it said it would be. We also had to call on this and they only refilled it partially.

We had seaweed during our stay and beach is rocky-bring water shoes. Enjoyed our stay ❤️
