"We travel to Mexico about once a year and have stayed in several different locations and properties. Staff here were some of the friendliest we’ve met anywhere. Check in and Check out were both quick and easy. We had a swim up room which was fabulous. Our building didn’t back onto a path so it was fairly private. Would have been a nice touch if wait staff came around to those rooms to take drink orders. Beds were hard for our taste but we asked for mattress toppers which were provided quickly and made a huge difference. Food at the buffet was good. Not great. But nobody would go hungry. Lots to choose from. I forgot about making reservations at the restaurants until a couple days before our trip and unfortunately they were booked up by then. Room service menu is simple but quick, and free. A nice option if you’re not up to going out for dinner. Resort is huge so it never felt crowded even when it was busy. We did have trouble a finding pool chair on the weekend but no issues during the week. There is a trolley system to move people around the resort and to the other properties. But lots of pathways so it was easily walkable too. Advertised as a 5 star resort. It might have been at one point but I think it’s closer to a 4."

"Akumal Bay has a beautiful beach, clean and well kept amenities, and good food. However, the best part is the genuine, kind, and friendliness of all the staff. There is a positive, joyful climate that makes staying there an absolute treat."

"Our room was spacious and very clean. Most all al a cart restaurants we visited had delicious food, beautifully presented and attentive kind staff. Resort staff were always friendly and responsive. "

"Booking restaurants was difficult, especially for shorter stays of five days or less. Availability was very limited. "

"We had a lovely time at the Sens, the rooms were clean and the food was good. The thing that made it lose a star is that they require you to leave the facility at 12pm sharp, so if you have a flight leaving at 6pm then you have to book another night or sit in the airport for hours????"

"Would highly recommend. We’ve stayed at many resorts in Mexico and this one exceeded our expectations. We wanted the higher end all inclusive feel but with more lush greenery. The staff was top notch and attentive to our every need - more than i was expecting but it was incredibly helpful. Every member of the staff would stop what they were doing to show us directions to a restaurant, give us tips on the area, etc. Every "
