"Rooms need updating. Furniture is worn, curtains are very dusty. Our room had very visible signs of a leak in the ceiling. Waits for elevators are long and be prepared to stop at every floor going up and down. Despite the variety, breakfast is lacking in flavor. Coffee is instant, no creamer options. Ended up skipping altogether after the first morning and spent additional money elsewhere. The view of Tower Bridge is great and proximity to Tower Hill tube is a plus. This hotel is just “ok”. Gets you by a few nights, but not the place to stay for 8 nights like we did. Not recommendable and would skip it."

"I’m extremely disappointed with my stay at this hotel. When I checked in, there was leftover food in the room that hadn’t been cleaned, and the bed was clearly dirty. The staff was not helpful when handling the situation — they moved me from a nice room on the 5th floor with a good view to a much worse room on the 2nd floor. To make things worse, there were small flies in the room every day. It became exhausting to deal with, and I eventually gave up asking for it to be cleaned properly. It’s truly unacceptable for a 4-star hotel to have the quality of a 1-star. I would not recommend staying here."

"We loved staying at this location. Everybody on staff was nice and accommodating. The rooms were nicely updated and clean. When we checked in, it was pretty late and were worried about dining options. Lucky for us, the bar/restaurant area was still open. For late night, they offer pizza - which saved us! We loved the proximity to Borough Market - just a few minutes of walking away."

"The hotel exceeded all expectations. We arrived and our room was not quite ready. The check in staff offered us a voucher for two glasses of champagne while we waited; they then come to find us to tell us the room was ready and they had upgraded us. We had a lovely room with a nice view. On the way back after dinner we stopped at 12th knot for a couple of cocktails and enjoyed the atmosphere and great view over St Paul’s. Our room was on the 9th floor, not the biggest room we have ever stayed at, but a good size, with a nice bathroom and decent amenities. My only comment is that it would be nice if there was a mirror by the desk so that it can be used as a dresser. The bed was comfortable and the hotel quiet, no slamming doors through the night like in other hotels. A very enjoyable stay. "

"Great location! Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating to everything. The bedroom was very clean and spacious - the bed was super comfortable and the pillow and duvet were perfect! The only improvement would be either a heated towel rail in the bathroom or heated floor as it was a little cold however the robe and slippers provided rectified this!!"

"Great location and quirky style. Good rain shower and hi tec rooms. Only disappointed that no beverages in room and had to pay for a tea as not having breakfast. A shame as spoiled overall impression "

"Overall great experience at Strand Palace. Fabulous location in Covent Garden with access to restaurants, stores, theatre and three different Underground stations each within 1/4. Lovely, clean and updated rooms and lobby. Staff very helpful. Breakfast great and plentiful. I would stay again there for sure. "

"Fabulous hotel - excellent room - very high std of furnishing and attention from the staff. Excellent location and easy to get anywhere by tube or bus (bus stop right outside) - reasonable walking distance to various places for eating and transport. V Good Indian restaurant on premises "
