"Stayed at Legends whilst the Great Escape festival was on. The hotel is in a perfect location, right on the sea front. Breakfast was good and the staff really friendly. Our room was very small but adequate for what we needed. The bar below was very loud on the Friday and Saturday nights until very early in the morning. If you want a decent nights sleep I’d avoid the first floor rooms at the front above the bar area."

"Great location for Brighton. Overlooked the Marina and on an easy bus route into the city. Loads of bistros and other foodie places very close at reasonable prices. Hotel staff extremely helpful and friendly. Room was tight, but as this was a short stay, not an issue. Overall, very pleased with this stay"

"We’ve stayed at the Old Ship several times, as it tends to be the best value for money. We love the central sea front location (and are prepared to put up with a bit of city noise… the complimentary ear plugs are a nice touch), sea views are well worth paying a bit extra for, and we even enjoy the 100 year old lift …. on the occasional time it arrives before we opt for the stairs instead (it is described optimistically as ‘a bit slow’). Very pleasant staff too. Looking forward to our next stay. "

"This was an amazingly convenient property for proximity to the train station. A few blocks walk to The Lanes and a bit further to the Pier. We walked everywhere. The room was modern and clean and had a queen size bed. A great kitchenette which included a dishwasher (I didn’t use it but I thought it was fabulous). The continental breakfast was also way more than I expected and included one selection of egg, sausage, hashbrowns and beans. Choices of breads and pastries and yogurt, cereals...

"Excellent value for money , room was large, large comfy bed with TV and sofa. Mini kitchen with kettle,sink,hob,microwave and fridge. En suite bath with shower. Towels provided.I only booked for the one night but would have happily stayed a week. Yes there was the odd hair and a bit of dust in places but on the whole it was clean. Its a bit dated but wouldn't expect anything less being an old building. I'd definitely be booking again."

"This is a really good value option for anyone visiting Brighton. The rooms are compact but the bed was very comfortable. The owner is friendly and sorts things out very quickly when you check in. "The entrance via a code worked really well and we received it with no problem in the day if our stay. The location was great close to everything we needed in the centre of Brighton. "A real grand hotel. Fantastic staff and fantastic experience. It's a very old structure though, there is no ramp at the entrace, so it wasn't easy to bring the buggy up the little staircase every time. Thanfully, the staff is so available and friendly they always helped. Will definitely come back."
