"An Absolutely Beautiful Resort — We Didn’t Want to Leave! Our stay at The Udaya Resort was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the beauty and tranquility of the property. The resort is stunning, with its gorgeous koi pond, beautiful private villas, and incredible swimming pools. Every corner of the property feels thoughtfully designed, creating a peaceful and luxurious atmosphere that makes it easy to relax and unwind. Evelyn took wonderful care of us and helped make our experience even more special. Her hospitality and attentiveness truly stood out. We loved The Udaya so much that we actually canceled our other reservations just to extend our stay! That alone says everything about how much we enjoyed our time here. The breakfast was another highlight. Everything was beautifully prepared, and the restaurant staff were consistently attentive, warm, and friendly. Their excellent service made every morning feel special and added to the overall experience. What really makes The Udaya stand out is the combination of its breathtaking surroundings, comfortable accommodations, delicious food, and genuinely welcoming staff. It’s the kind of place where you arrive planning to stay a few nights and immediately wish you could stay longer. We cannot recommend The Udaya Resort highly enough. "Pros - Gorgeous setting in a pretty garden with a lovely pool. Very peaceful with no traffic noise - great for light sleepers. If you need to head out sightseeing before breakfast time, they can provide a breakfast box. Our balcony was spacious and came with a drying rack which came in really handy. Staff are helpful. The bed only has sheets but if you request a blanket they provide one straight away. And it’s just a minute’s walk to the beach, and surrounded by cafes, laundry services and beauty therapy spas. Cons - We booked a standard twin room on Expedia 11 months in advance, and although the booking conditions stated a twin room wasn’t guaranteed, we were disappointed that with such a long booking period the hotel didn’t have any twins available. I tried to get a rollaway bed instead, as the Expedia advertisement said the room came with rollaway/extra beds for free, but the hotel said there was a charge for them. The Expedia ad also said the room had a minibar and electric kettle, but it did not. I don’t know if this is Expedia’s error or the hotel’s, but I mention it so people who do need a minibar, kettle or rollaway bed have realistic expectations. There was also a small hole in the door to the balcony which I stuffed with toilet paper so mosquitos couldn’t get in - that worked well, so if you get the same room as us you should try that."

"We stayed at Onyx for six nights in the penthouse apartment as a family of four. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay and there were many things we really liked about the property, particularly the spacious accommodation, pool, children’s facilities, gym, food and service. However, there were also several aspects of the penthouse and overall resort experience that I felt could be improved. Some of these are relatively minor inconveniences, while others are worth considering, particularly for families travelling with young children. The penthouse itself was clean, spacious and comfortable. Having plenty of space was a real benefit for our family, especially as we were staying for six nights. The bed was also very comfortable, which made a big difference during our stay. The room was generally well presented, although I personally found the artwork and decor quite overwhelming. There were a lot of decorative elements competing for attention, and I think the space could feel more relaxing with a slightly simpler and more understated design. This is, of course, a matter of personal preference, but I felt that the decor sometimes took away from the otherwise beautiful and spacious apartment."
