"The staff are very welcoming and friendly especially Claire on reception, who explained everything to us in great detail. We stayed for one night this visit and had our children come to the hotel to have dinner with us in the restaurant, the food was very enjoyable. We had breakfast in the restaurant which was excellent a great choice of both continental and cooked breakfast. Manisha went out of her way to get me a decade latte from the bar even though the restaurant was very busy. We would recommend the Delta by Marriott Waltham abbey to family & friends and will be staying there again in the future."

"Booked a double room, was given a ground floor family room. Problem was it was street level, so couldn't hVe window open. Next door was a family room and whoever was above me must have been running with concrete boots, especially at 1am and 7am, where the ceiling was thundering for an hour each time. Rooms were functional but dated. Staff were great and went to speak to the noise makers when I went to reception. Location is 2 mins from Ilford Station, and opposite the exchange, so top notch location "

"The surroundings are beautiful. There are a few areas that need a little TLC including in the room I stayed in. I will say my room was immaculately clean with fresh linen and towels. Rose on reception was brilliant, instead of pointing me to my room she took the time to show me the way. The food in restaurant is excellent, 10/10 to the chefs. There are symbols next to food items on menu which I didn't know meaning of, maybe a key chart would be beneficial. Kayla behind the bar was attentive and professional, as were all members of staff I met. Definitely would recommend."

"I would strongly advise solo travellers, particularly women travelling alone, to avoid this hotel. I booked what was advertised as a hotel room, but upon arrival I was unexpectedly placed in a separate house down the street from the main hotel building. This was not made clear at the time of booking. I was also required to pay a £100 deposit, which had not been clearly disclosed in advance. Late in the evening, a group of men staying in the house began congregating outside my room, knocking on my door, shouting, and laughing. Their behaviour became increasingly intimidating and I felt genuinely frightened for my safety. I called reception twice to report that I felt unsafe. The response was slow and dismissive, and I became so concerned that I was close to calling the police. When I asked for an escort back to the main hotel because I was too frightened to walk alone at nearly midnight, this request was refused. When I returned to reception to hand in my key and request a refund, the receptionist was rude and confrontational. Instead of showing any concern, he asked, “What’s your problem?”, dismissed my account, implied that I was lying, and refused to provide a refund. As I no longer felt safe staying there, I had no choice but to leave immediately and book alternative accommodation at an additional cost of around £300. My experience was extremely distressing and entirely unacceptable"

"The best staff I’ve encountered in a long time. The rooms are small but very clean. No air conditioning. The only problem I had was I’m the hotel policy wouldn’t take a major credit/debit card because it required a signature (not sure why as I use my PIN any other time abd it wouldn’t pull up that way in their hotel payment machine)."

"the room was very clean and well dressed, simple and contemporary. the menu is extensive and delicious. the staff are very accommodating and friendly. there's even a restaurant discount for hotel guests. the reception and restaurant are pretty and it is a very nice place to stay. would definitely recommend."
