"This property is in a great location, but it is very awkward lay out. The shower door doesn't close so you barely can fit in it. The property is not suitable for someone who has mobility issues. The bed takes up the whole room so you can't get off the side of the bed. The bathroom has no counter space or towel rack and is very small. Very important to know, you can't drop luggage off early so you are stuck with it until 4:00 pm. I made this last minute, so I didn't have many choices. "

"The Hidden Gem flat in Alfama was perfect for us. Small, but not cramped, bright and airy, and exceptionally clean. The bonus was a washing machine. It was walkable to most areas and surrounded by lovely restaurants and Fado clubs. We had a few communication glitches, but all was resolved by check-in time. I would definitely recommend the Hidden Gem in Alfama to family and friends."

"The property is centrally located and modern. However, the whole experience was completely ruined by their bait and switch check in procedure. The Expedia special instructions say there is no front desk and you have to be there "to meet the host" between 4 and 9. I prepaid my reservation in full and my receipt clearly shows the only thing to be collected is the city tax. We arrived at 6:30 and could not get in to the building. Another guest let us in to the foyer where I emailed,texted, and...

"The place is falling apart, the sheets are so yellow when they should be white, and at one point the first night of my stay as we were watching a movie in my computer a staff member and other guest unlocked my room and got in, quietly they realized we were inside. We checked out in the morning. It was also very loud all night outside and loud early in the morning inside. They are remodeling so workers were making loud noises as early as 8am. "
