"We had a very nice time on our stay at this small quiet hotel. We had the Shikibu room and appreciated the spaciousness. It had an outdoor garden view as well as a separate private small outdoor onsen. The onsen looks tiny on first impression but it was nice and we enjoyed the outside seating area too. The beds were comfortable and the linens were nice, and definitely get the breakfast. Amazing breakfast! The staff were friendly and very helpful with transportation back to the train station....

"Super clean and very roomy. Has a view of the top of Mt. Fuji, and it's within walking distance of the lake and the nature center where the views are even better. It was easy to get to using the Red line."

"Amazing service overall
They have a timed shuttle service from Kawaguchiko St. - Hotel, which is really convenient, I didn't know about this and took a bus when first arrived 😂 either way was easy to do check-in and checkout and move around the area, the Kawaguchiko station is near so you can also walk, good breakfast, clean rooms and location "

"Loved that it was a hostel, but with a private room and bathroom. We loved having a 7/11 for quick food and drinks next to the house. Quick walk over to the lake for views of Mt Fuji and close to bus stops. We absolutely loved our time there and would definitely stay there again! "

"A spacious villa for our family of 5 with 2 beds and a few tatami. There’s a small private osen outside the bathroom. A kettle and simple eating utensils are provided. Location is convenient in terms of access to convenient stores and restaurants nearby. Very happy with our stay!"

"Enjoyed my stay!!! Very clean and comfortable. Great breakfast buffet. Easy walk to the convenience store/a couple of restaurants/public transportation. "
"Such a great experience! We’ll be back. Warm welcome and excellent services! Room is clean with great view! Food is good. You can wear traditional Japanese clothes provided in the hotel which is a plus. There is a Mt Fuji observation deck on top of the building. We took really nice pictures there wearing traditional clothes. Public hot springs are clean with lake or Mt Fuji. There is a private one available for rent. "
"The room was very clean. The free shuttle bus service is excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Plenty to eat. Good trails to walk. A very good stay"

"Exceeded all expectations. Firstly time at ryokan and by far it's my favorite part of my Japan trip. The staff were all extremely friendly and professional.
Rooms were clean and had all the amenities I needed. The baths were amazing.
Highly recommend. "
"Room was clean, spacious enough, heating on. View of Fuji with greenery outside window. Very quiet. Dinner and breakfast can be preordered. Friendly home couple "
"We drove to Hoshinoya Fuji, as it was dark, the entry towards the check-in area is very easy to missed, suggest to have more road sign leading towards the resort.
Once we checked in, there is a car to pick us up to our room up the mountain. The view of Fuji is stunning, if you are lucky enough to see it. Room and breakfast service are great, and so are the amenities in the resort.
Booking for activities got to be done by 6pm the day before (no exception can be made). Was really interested in the morning kayak, however they need at least a minimum of 2 guests to be able to join which is a pity, as i was travelling with elderly, none of them wanted to do it. Suggest the hotel could instead help to match up the guest joining the activitiy, so more people that do not come in a pair can join as well.
Overall a great once in the lifetime experience. cannot really beat waking up at 5am with Mount Fuji right in front of it. Stunning!"
