This is my second stay at this property and it was much better than my first. The sheets were clean this time, no issues with the key, and enough towels were provided for 2 nights. Thank you to the family that runs this little hotel
This is a traditional, no-frills motel: you get a parking spot, a bed, a bathroom, TV, and not much else.
It was exactly what I expected and wanted!
The room was clean and spacious, the bed was large and comfortable, the bathroom had a bath/shower combo with fresh towels and a bar of soap. I was able to park so close to the room that unloading and reloading was a breeze.
For sleeping, the room was dark and quiet, and I awoke refreshed.
They also provided wifi and a desk if one wanted to work, and a dresser and space to hang clothes.
I cannot accurately give feedback on the neighborhood, as I spent my waking hours visiting family in the area. However, as a single woman I felt safe and slept well for two nights. Entering and exiting the property with my vehicle was easy.
I’ve stayed at the deluxe inn off of Misison blvd several times since August. Is it the best motel? No but it’s clean enough and the staff/family that operates this motel know what they are doing…. Until this most recent visit. I booked on Expedia as always. I called the motel 30 minutes after I booked to ensure my reservation was logged, and it was. I arrived around 6:45pm. The young man took my ID, and checked me into another persons room. When he asked how I was going to pay I explained I prepaid through Expedia. Then he took my ID again and couldn’t find my reservation. After dozens of minutes of waiting, he found my reservation and checked me into the room. Great. I get into the room and it’s cold.. that’s fine because there’s a heater..right? Well the heater didn’t work. Every time I turned it on cold hair would come out. I’m not sensitive to cold at all but we are currently in a cold snap in the Bay Area. 35-39 degreee nights with strong winds. I called front desk to no answer. I put on my puff coats and boots, and knocked on the window. No one came down an the doorbell that’s usually there was gone. After waiting for too long, I returned to my mom. So finally I return to my room, and decide to undress from my outside clothes, wash my hands, brush my teeth and get under the covers. I pulled the covers back and there was HAIR and weird “stain” marks. The stains were fresh because they smudged when I attempted to wipe them away with the one rag that is provided. bad Stay
Most disgusting room ive ever stayed in (traveled the entire continental US and 16 other countries) Reeks of stale cigarette smoke, cigarette butts on the floor which is sticky with filth, window opens to dirty noisy street air conditioner gives off smells of smoke and piss. facet in sink broken, metal bar in closet bent as if used to unalive ones-self. Tried to talk to the old indian man at the front desk who made a talking sign at me with his hand while wobbling his head side to side mockingly, as if his hand were a puppet, similar to the ASL sign for “no” The area is pretty rough lots of houseless folks yelling etc. Couldnt actually talk to anyone, the laday who checked me in said shed be there everyday but wasnt, so i just left the keys in the room and left.
... The lady at the desk was good. She deserves no recrimination, even if she owns the property.
The place is dingy. I was given a room in a dismal dark corridor. The towels were stained, one with someone's blood. There is no laundry, but a good laundromat a few blocks away sufficed. No breakfast, no coffee, and no good place to get a coffee nearby.
Drapes and window open; that is my way. But it's very wierd there. Not uncomfortably so, until evening, and bright security lights shine in. But the drapes were good.
The tap water is so foul, that I had to use bottled water to brush my teeth. Don't open your mouth in the shower. Rusty pipes, at least. It's visibly brown.
Headboard of the bed is fake; just a piece of wood mounted above the head of the bed. Mounted not straight, in my room. Slapdash.
Other places in the room. Something is screwed into the wall, and there are five other screw-holes where they screwed it up, and didn't bother to spackle.
Strange.
I won't be back, and do not hesitate to dis-recommend.
Sorry, lady at the desk. I know you guys are trying, in trying times.
