Amazing staff from check in to housekeeping to check out. Lovely pool is a wonderful place to spend a relaxing afternoon. Perfect area quiet and safe, close to campus and the Rockridge shopping area.
The Claremont hotel was a lovely place to stay while we attended a concert at the Greek Theatre. It was my 60th birthday and they upgraded us and gave us a bottle of champagne which was so very nice of them! The Bay views were absolutely beautiful! Fun to visit this historic property. Also enjoyed the bar in their main restaurant.
Incredible staff. Everyone so friendly, helpful and kind. Beautiful rooms and public spaces. And the views!!! Have a meal in the Limewood, excellent food and views.
The room was spotless and beautiful. The parking was easy, the staff is always so welcoming and bend over backwards to meet our needs.
I would particularly like to thank Jonas at the front desk and Nyima for always going above and beyond to make my stay great.
Great location, beautiful room, smooth check in, amazing staff. The pool and gym are great, the location is perfect a short walk to campus or Rockridge shopping and restaurants, a great bakery and amazing burger place right across the street. The only place I want to stay in the Bay Area, the only resort experience in Berkeley or SF. I will be back for sure. A perfect place for a romantic getaway with my partner!
LOVE this majestic hotel: the restaurant, coffee shop and club house for workouts are perfect and walkable to great bakery, Peet's and College Ave, where there's everything that you need from laundry to wine to a movie theater
Beautiful property and attentive staff. The rooms are a bit on the smaller side (we stayed in the deluxe king room) which is expected given it’s an older property. We enjoyed brunch with our family at Lime Wood with amazing views of the bay. The next day we had breakfast at Provisions which was great for a light meal. Do get here early as they run out of somethings by mid morning. All in all beautiful stay. Go Bears!
This was my first time staying in a historical hotel. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the outdoor views

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The rooms were nice and the resort itself had nice amenities for guests. Rooms could use an update. The curtains in the room I stayed in had holes, and for room 702 specifically had a view of the hotel's roof which isnt very attractive. Otherwise the hotel is ok.
The room was spotless, staff was very helpful and kind. The pool is beautiful the gym is great. The hotel location is perfect, quiet yet an easy walk to campus and the Rockridge area in Oakland. There’s a great bakery and Peet’s coffee just across the street from the hotel. Always a pleasure staying here, a wonderful resort like experience unmatched in the Bay Area.
After an early disturbing glitch when they refused give us the two queen bed room we had booked with Expedia long in advance, and gave us instead one king bed, blaming Expedia for not being up to date, a different staffer hearing my complaint relented and an hour later they moved us to a spectacular two queen bed room and we had exactly what we wanted. Some staff are clueless but others are exceptionally helpful.
