We had a great stay at the Industrialist for 2 days before our cruise from Brooklyn. The accommodation is clean and well equipped and is good value for money. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The location is also excellent for subway access and 5th Avenue which is great for evening strolls.
Industrialist is a boutique hotel that is well located in Brooklyn, near the Union St Subway station. Travelers should know that rooms are small, yet practical. I thought for the price, it was a good deal. The coffee shop across the street is very good, and within a mile radius you have restaurant options.
As with all NYC hotels, walls are thin.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The staff was super friendly. This is definitely like a New York 7-8 anywhere else this is like 5 or below. It was nice enough and close to the subway which was great. Bathroom is super tiny. It was a pretty good experience I just would’ve preferred to stay at a Hilton or something which I considered but wanted to save a little bit. It wasn’t bad it just wasn’t incredible but the people were cool and it was not a bad stay at all
Great location for the R train. The room was very small but we weren’t in it much. The AC didn’t work that great but we also didn’t say anything. It was a walkable neighborhood and great coffee, bagels, pizza nearby!
All the staff was great. Jessica in particular was a joy. Great location & beautiful facility. Only issue that I meant to bring to the attention of the staff was that the shower tended to leak & puddle on the floor at there was no rubber guard on the bottom of the door.
The staff is outstanding, the location is nice, and the room is typical for New York, which means it's small. However, my overall experience was excellent.
The shower was impossible small. The in room coffee maker had to be replaced to work and was not properly working. One night there was a 3:00 AM argument in the hall, the desk clerk told the participants to knock it off, they went outside and continued their argument until 4:00 AM under my window. The desk clerk said they were sorry and would make it right, but so far nothing. The staff is friendly and the place is clean. I am tall and skinny so I could almost take a shower but it is crazy that some one designed such a thing.
The place is totally run down. I had stayed at a Sonder in the past and now that it’s under new management and just reopened I thought it would be good. They didn’t refresh anything during the new ownership. The beds are good and rooms seemed clean but everything else is in rough shape. I had great concern when I got to my room and the lock was broken off. Dissatisfied I decided to bring this to the attention of the staff and check out early and go stay at a better kept hotel. When I asked for a partial refund I was told to email the GM and they would respond. They didn’t so I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you are ok with mediocre service and conditions.
Smallest room i have ever been in + this week was no hot water in the building so the deal was perfect .. convince food everywhere , no taxi needed . Bed was soft tv was pretty good size solo travel so it was perfect
Best room when you arent planning to stay inside most of your stay. The bed was super comfy. They give you a white noise machine which helped me a lot since I cant stand sleeping in silence. The only issue was the long check in— not the staff member’s fault. Super close to the subway.
